This App Wraps AND Delivers Your Gifts for You
Holiday shopping is SO.FREAKING.STRESSFUL. (unless you’re doing online shopping, of course ;) The endless crowds, piles of shopping bags, the lack of inventory and, worst of all, the horrifying food court options lurking at the mall. It’s all a little (okay, a lot) overwhelming. Thankfully it’s time to make your holiday shopping feel a little less like a chore with the help of (what else?!) an awesome app called Shypand the design elves here at Brit + Co.
Haven’t heard about Shyp? Check it out: The San Francisco-based startup is an on-demand shipping app that keeps you far, far away from the (terrifying!) post office.
After downloading the app (available on iOS and in beta for Android), you take a picture of the product(s) you want to be shipped and then a Shyp Hero (really, that’s what they’re called AND what they are) will pick up your item(s) from wherever you happen to be (home, work, out shopping) if you’re in the company’s current cities. Right now a hero will save you in San Francisco, New York, Miami and soon in LA.
Then once they’re back at Shyp HQ those heroes will pack all your gifts and send them (anywhere, worldwide!) to the lucky recipient using the lowest cost and most reliable shipping option. Talk to you never, Mister Postman.
Wanna know what’s got us even more excited about Shyp during the holiday season? The company just announced on-demand gift wrapping, featuring two Brit + Co designed wraps. From today until Christmas (the final deadline for Christmas Day arrival is December 23, FYI!), you have the option to gift wrap your items (umm, why wouldn’t you?) within the app for $5 per gift. Each gift will be professionally wrapped, so they’ll look flawless sitting under the tree or by the menorah.
Kevin Gibbon, Shyp co-founder and CEO dishes, “The holidays can be hectic, with travel, parties and snow. We’re giving you one less thing to stress over. With Shyp, your gifts arrive in time and in style so you can spend time with family and friends, not waiting at the post office or searching for gift wrap.”
As much as we love gift wrapping, we’re all about spending more time with our family and friends during the holidays, so thanks for taking over for us Shyp ;)
Will you be using Shyp this holiday season? Let us know in the comments.
