Calling all fans of small-screen Westerns like Yellowstone and 1883: there's a new sheriff (or rather, movie) in town. The Unholy Trinity is the latest in this genre to hit theaters, starring veteran actors Pierce Brosnan (The Thursday Murder Club) and Samuel L. Jackson (Avengers).

What is 'The Unholy Trinity' about?

Set in picturesque Montana near the end of the 19th century, The Unholy Trinity features all the classic tropes associated with Westerns: double crossings, vendettas, and even some stolen gold. The story centers on a young man named Henry Broadway, played by Brandon Lessard, who watches his father get hanged at the film's start and sets out to get revenge against the man who supposedly framed him for a crime.
Henry winds up in Trinity, Montana, with plans to shoot down a corrupt sheriff but soon realizes the man is already dead. This causes the new Sheriff Dove, portrayed by Pierce Brosnan, to swoop in and take over, temporarily smoothing things over with Henry.
However, things are on the brink of falling apart because a mysterious stranger referred to as St. Christophe, played by Samuel L. Jackson, knows the truth about Henry's dad. And he's fixated on showing Henry that, instead of being a stand-up guy, his father had actually stolen a chest of gold.
"Buried secrets of an 1870s Montana town spark violence when a young man returns to reclaim his legacy and is caught between a sheriff determined to maintain order and a mysterious stranger hell-bent on destroying it," per the official synopsis.

High Five Films and Amadeus Productions are behind The Unholy Trinity. It's directed by Richard Gray, an Australian native who's best known for Murder at Yellowstone City, Robert the Bruce, and Sugar Mountain.
Lee Zachariah served as the film's screenwriter, and Lionel Hicks and Lee Matthews acted as executive producers.
