This is for you non-traditional ladies who feel that your wedding day is a day to break the rules. Or maybe you鈥檙e a classic bride who opted for a traditional wedding dress and need a little extra oomph to take your look to the next level. You still want to feel beautiful and look like you鈥檙e the star of the day, but definitely want to go beyond blushing bride makeup. In any of those cases, the major trick is to pick a few bold colors and get the hues right. For a spring bride, the combo of a bright coral lip and a cobalt blue eyeliner liner is clutch 鈥 hues that compliment each other and don鈥檛 compete 鈥 or make you think too much of the 鈥80s. Or, in other words, just rebellious enough.

Prep: Flawless Face + Pop of Peach

Begin by following this flawless face tutorial to get your base makeup on and ready to go.

Non-Traditional Bride Makeup: Cobalt Blue Eyes + Bright Coral Lip

Step 1: Brightening Highlight

Apply a brightening shimmer shadow to your brow bones, inside corners of your eyes and slightly below the inside of your lower lash line. This will reflect light in photographs beautifully. I鈥檓 using Urban Decay Naked Palette in Virgin ($54).

Step 2: Warm Contour

NonTraditionalBrideMakeup4

To bring out a soft depth in your eyes, contour the creases of your eyes with a warm brown shadow like Urban Decay Naked Palette in Buck ($54).

Step 3: Glowing Cheekbones

NonTraditionalBrideMakeup5

You really want your skin to be a feature in this look, so apply your favorite highlighter to your cheekbones. I鈥檓 using Too Faced Candlelight 聽Glow Highlighting Powder Duo ($30).

聽Step 4: Bright Coral Pucker

Go for a bright coral lipstick to amp up your look in a way that鈥檚 still delicate enough to speak 鈥渨edding day makeup.鈥 I鈥檓 currently obsessing over Yves Saint Laurent Rouge Pur Couture Satin Radiance Lipstick in Rosy Coral ($37).

Step 5: Cobalt Blue Liner

NonTraditionalBrideMakeup7

This next move is definitely a bold one, but it works! Apply a cobalt blue eyeliner on the outer corners of your eyes, and taper the liner to blend into your lash line around three quarters of the way in. This is a subtle way to rock the liner that still packs a punch. I鈥檓 using Lanc么me Drama Liquid-Pencil Longwear Eyeliner in Cote D鈥檃zur ($23).

Finishing Touches: Mascara + Brows

NonTraditionalBrideMakeup8

Curl those lashes, and apply your favorite lengthening mascara to make them extra fluttery! Top off the look by gently defining your brows with a color that matches the natural pigment in your brows, and comb through with an eyebrow brush to blend and soften.

Take this look outside, and those accents will just shine against your glowing skin.

NonTraditionalBrideMakeupFinal2

Even the non-traditional bride can still have a softness to her.

Feeling it!

Clearly, going bold doesn鈥檛 mean that you have to be over-the-top. Don鈥檛 be afraid to pair a wild statement necklace and some floral accents in with your look as well.
