Whitney Port’s New LA Home Defines California Cool
We’ve followed — and loved — Whitney Port from her days on The Hills to welcoming baby boy Sonny in July. So as soon as we heard she was purchasing a new place in sunny Los Angeles, we couldn’t wait to get the deets. Port teamed up with Joss & Main designer Donna Garlough to turn her home into an airy, Moroccan oasis, and, lucky for you, we’ve got the exclusive first look. Scroll down to preview the swoon-worthy setup, then head over to Joss & Main to shop the looks for your own home.
Garlough worked with Port to get a sense of the vibe she was going for. “We knew from the start that she wanted a collected, bohemian aesthetic in her bedroom and that she hoped to incorporate plenty of pattern and texture, but she also wanted the space to feel clean and airy,” the designer said.
To achieve this boho-meets-basic look, Garlough worked with layers. “Starting with crisp white walls and simple white bedding, we began to layer in natural and neutral pieces with subtle personality, like the woven leather bench and chair and a washed jute rug reminiscent of a vintage Oriental style,” she explained. The final look was lust-worthy impressive — and not just to Port. “By the time we were finished, we all wanted to move in,” Garlough said.
Port’s overall theme was motivated by her little one, so each item was chosen to cater to these family-friendly feels. But there were a few personal touches she couldn’t go without. Her fave? The Moroccan style rug. “I can’t tell you how soft it is and how amazing it feels to step onto when I get out of bed,” Port said.
