Alicia Keys sparked a movement last year when the singer penned a letter explaining that she was going makeup free in an effort to show the world the 鈥渞aw and real鈥 self. While her choice inspired many, with other celebs such as Gabrielle Union and Kim Kardashian West quickly jumping onboard, others had a hard time coming to terms with the concept, as we saw when she showed up at the VMAs makeup-free.

Now, in a recent interview with Howard Stern, Adam Levine revealed that while he thought he had 鈥渃aught鈥 his The Voice co-star in the act when he walked in on her applying cosmetics (likely one of the three products which her beauty specialist revealed to W in January that she does, in fact, use), she had a response that put him in his place.

Hi paris...

鈥淪he was putting on a little bit of makeup, and I was like, 鈥極h, yeah, I thought Alicia doesn鈥檛 wear makeup,鈥欌 Levine told the shock jock. 鈥淎nd she鈥檚 like, 鈥業 do what the f*ck I want.鈥欌 Boom!

And there you have it, folks! Keys may not be 100-percent makeup free, but she does make a good point that it鈥檚 a woman鈥檚 choice whether or not to use products to enhance her own inner beauty or to go bare, and we can certainly get on board with that.
