After compiling my vacation reads, I'm *finally* ready to start combing through Reese Witherspoon's Book Club list. Her revelation about reading books in her cover feature interview with Harper's Bazaar made me realize I need to step my game up ASAP.
Her admirable hobby - that's since led her to create a bourgeoning book club— continues to highlight books with women at the center, girl does she have a great eye for stories that fit every mood. To date, her book club list has amassed over 90 titles of romantic beach reads, thrillers, and more.
Since it's a new year and we're sure you not ready to tackle that many titles, I went through the list to pick the top 26 books worth diving into. Friends and Strangers follows Elisabeth and Sam as they navigate what it means to show up in the different seasons of their lives. They somehow form an unlikely friendship that's quickly threatened and leads to things that are hard to come back from.
When Amanda and Clay decide to take a breather from city life with their teenagers, they initially feel they're in for peace and quiet at the rural location they've chosen. Unfortunately for them, the owners of the home they're renting arrive in the middle of the night. It's a tale of wariness that spills over and it's up to the reader to decide if it's warranted or not.
People aren't always what they seem, and Ivy Lin is a prime example of this. She learns how to steal from her grandmother, and she doesn't stop until her mother decides enough is enough. After being sent to China, Ivy grows to become trustworthy and evens bumps into her former crush's sister. But, her past begins to haunt her and she finds out that some things are hard to forget.
Gee and Noelle's worlds collide when integration brings them together. Behind the scenes we find that their mothers — both with strong opposing views — are doing what they feel is best to prepare their children for a life in America. Each has their own reasoning even if it threatens to erase who their children truly are.
Flora Mancini is forced to question the life she and her husband have built when she discovers he didn't actually lose his wedding ring years ago. It's enough to make anyone go mad, but she somehow works to piece together the puzzle to discover the truth and decide how to move forward.
Things reach a fever pitch in this tale about family secrets and longing. Each of the Riva siblings have their own ghosts and anticipation to look forward to as their famous summer party draws near. It's only a matter of time before things bubbling underneath the surface burst in front of everyone.
Hell of a Book is about an author who's being followed by an imaginary child and a Black boy named Soot. As the past and present collide, Hell of a Book somehow lives up to its name in a reckoning tale.
Bright Burning Things sheds light on a former entertainers love for her son and struggle to part ways with drinking. It's a tale that's familiar to those who have parents who struggle with alcoholism and the pain it often inflicts.
With their mother's cryptic message and a family-long recipe involving black cake looming between them, brothers Byron and Benny must work together to learn more about her history. They also have to find a way to repair their relationship before everything that still ties them together is lost forever. Be sure to read Black Cake before it comes out on Hulu this November!
Tova Sullivan has suffered two great tragedies in life — the death of her husband and her son's unsolved disappearance. When she befriends an octopus named Marcellus, he becomes determine to help her understand what happened to her son before evidence is completely lost at sea.

Yes, Sabrina Carpenter will be the final musical guest for SNL season 49. I hope we hear "Nonsense" and "Espresso"! The Eras Tour opener will play alongside host Jake Gyllenhaal, and considering he's the inspo behind Taylor Swift's "All Too Well," I simply HAVE to know what Taylor thinks. (And whether Sabrina and Jake will talk about the Taylor of it all).

Taylor Swift made a surprise appearance on SNL season 49 on October 14, 2023 to introduce musical guest Ice Spice. Taylor also served as the musical guest on SNL in November 2021 ahead of her Red (Taylor's Version) release. And even though she didn't make an appearance on the April 13, 2024 episode of SNL, host Ryan Gosling (and special guest Emily Blunt) did a spoof cover of her hit song "All Too Well."
"All Too Well (Ryan and Emily's Version) !!! Watch me accidentally catch myself singing this version on tour," Taylor Swift wrote in an Instagram story. "This monologue is everything." The real question is, when will we see Ryan Gosling as one of the Eras Tour celebrity guests!!

April 6 will be Kristen Wiig's fifth time hosting SNL! The comedian and Palm Royale actress became a cast member during season 32 in 2006, and later hosted episodes after she left the show in 2012. I'm really hoping we see a new sketch featuring her Target Lady!

While no SNL season 49 cast members are leaving the show, NBC did add a new face to the cast: comedian Chloe Troast, who's based in New York City. In addition to Troast, the other featured cast members are Marcello Hernandez, Molly Kearney, Michael Longfellow, and Devon Walker.

Unfortunately, the Saturday Night Live season 49 ticket lottery is closed, but it'll open back up this summer! But you do have the opportunity to do the SNL standby line. The link to apply for standby tickets opens at 10am the Thursday before a show.
All you have to do is make a standby reservation for either the rehearsal or live show, and if you get approved, arrive at the 49th Street NBC Studios Marquee between 6pm and 7pm the Friday before a show. Standby cards will be handed out at 12:01am the Saturday morning of a show!

The Bearstar Ayo Edebiri hosted SNL on February 3, 2024, with Jennifer Lopez as musical guest for the evening. Ayo's sense of humor is dry, witty, and sharp, which was perfect for Saturday Night Live! The best sketch of the night (aside from a pre-tape about the Dune 2popcorn buckets) was Solomon and the school hypnotist. I almost cried from laughing so hard!

This documentary follows the first group of Black debutantes in Canton, Ohio in ten years. In addition to providing an in-depth look at the community and the young women themselves, this movie dives into the controversial past of the ball, as well as a hopeful future.

This Tribeca Film Festival movie takes place in 1500s England, during the Tudor era. Katherine Parr fights to stay alive as her marriage to King Henry VIII gets more dangerous everyday, and court politics and paranoia await her at every turn. You've never seen The Holiday's Jude Law quite like this, and history lovers (and anyone who's a fan of SIX on Broadway) will be all over this movie.
