How One Too Many Margaritas Led to an Epic Instagram Purchase
We’ve all been there: In the backseat of a Lyft, happy-hour buzzed and homeward bound, fingertips occupied in an endless Insta scroll. And then it happens. That must-have purse or shoe pops up and you impulsively make the call to buy. This series explores the modern phenom that is shopping when you’re a little sauced and the sweet satisfaction or dreadful dismay that follows.
In this month’s installment, we’re back on the boozin’ and buyin’ beat — this time with our favorite in-house creative producer, Cassidy Miller. After enjoying a tequila-filled night, Miller, her BFF, and her BFF’s beau headed back to their pad to continue unwinding from the work week. While the group blended up another round (or two) of margaritas, Miller partook in a little Insta perusing. Along the way, she spotted the Rosehound Apparel All Flash No Cash Sweatshirt ($47) and immediately knew she had to have it. She instantly fell in love with the flashy font and casino-themed graphics that made dice, poker chips, and a martini seem like high fashion. “I don’t drink martinis, but I love the idea of them,” Miller said post-purchase.
But it wasn’t just the liquid courage that made her add to cart; she also happened to have a little extra cheddar burning a hole in her vintage Levi’s. “I had just been paid from a freelance gig and felt like treating myself,” she says. A couple of clicks later and it was en route to her house. No shame in this game.
In just a few days it showed up, and she was rightfully obsessed. “It’s SO SOFT! I love the vintage-inspired illustrations and the text,” she says. “Two-thirds of my wardrobe is made up of graphic tees and another one of my closet staples is a bright yellow graphic hoodie — so, you could say I have a type.” The new statement hoodie turned out to be a seamless addition to her wardrobe where it gets worn at least twice a week. “I love throwing it on to walk my dogs or run errands,” she says.
Retail Hangover Status: “One hundred percent would buy it again!”
