How to Copy Lauren Conrad’s Easy, Haunting Halloween 2018 Costume
If you’re still on the hunt for the perfect Halloween costume idea, look no further than Lauren Conrad. No stranger to dreaming up creative and stylish costumes (you may remember her fierce Cruella de Vil look last year), she really took it to the next level for 2018. On Thursday, October 18, the former The Hills star revealed her Halloween creation of Melanie Daniels from The Birds via Instagram.

Conrad turned to her website to give insight into the inspiration behind the costume, modeled after Alfred Hitchcock’s iconic character. “I’ve designed many different Halloween costumes over the years, but they have mostly all had varying amounts of tulle and glitter in common. This year I wanted to depart from the cutesy costumes of Halloweens past and step into something a little more… spooky,” she wrote on her website.
She went on to reveal how simple her costume actually is to replicate. All you really need is a retro-inspired dress, black heels, and a few artificial birds. It’s that easy! Conrad also showcased how she created a little birdie costume for her son Liam to wear.
