Who Says Beer Can’t Be a Dessert Too?
Everyone loves chilling out with an ice cold beer to watch the Super Bowl, but have you ever taken it one step further and used your favorite beer to make a beer float? That’s right, your evening tipple can now form your dessert too! This salted caramel beer float is super simple to make with only four ingredients (and when those ingredients include beer, ice cream and salted caramel, who are we to argue?). Make this for your Super Bowl party and your guests will be all kinds of impressed!
Ingredients:
Makes one
— 2 Tablespoons caramel or toffee sauce
— pinch sea salt flakes
— 1 bottle beer (I used a pale ale)
— 2 scoops vanilla ice cream
Instructions:
1. Drizzle some caramel sauce around the inside of a large glass or jar and sprinkle on a small pinch of sea salt.
2. Fill the glass two thirds of the way with your favorite beer.
3. Add two scoops of vanilla ice cream.
4. Top with more caramel sauce and another pinch of salt.
5. Serve immediately.
Drizzle some caramel sauce around the inside of a large glass or jar and sprinkle on a small pinch of sea salt. Don’t go overboard with the salt — you want to use just enough to bring out the flavor of the caramel.
Fill the glass two thirds of the way with your favorite beer. This time I used a pale ale, but next time I think I’ll try a chocolate stout!
Add two scoops of vanilla ice cream. It’s worth using a good quality ice cream here. When you’re only using four ingredients, you may as well make them count!
Top with more caramel sauce and another pinch of salt for the wow factor!
Serve immediately, before the ice cream melts completely!
