Desirée Hartsock and Chris Sigfried announced back in April that there would be a new addition to the Bachelor/Bachelorette fam (aside from Luke Pell, who’s rumored to be the next bachelor, that is, and Sean Lowe and Catherine Giudici Lowe’s baby boy!), but it wasn’t until yesterday that the mommy and daddy-to-be let the cat out of the bag as to whether it would be a little boy or a little girl.

While both parents took to Instagram to make the announcement, Chris got straight to the point.

Guess what?!

Holding up a baseball with the message “It’s a boy” scrawled across it, he not-so-subtly captioned the shot, “Guess what?!”

Desirée was slightly more reflective, writing, “We are so excited to share that we will be having a little baby BOY! Our hearts are so full of love for our little man already and we can’t thank you enough for the extra love you’ve shared during this special time.”

Though the couple had planned to keep the baby’s gender a secret, Desirée told Us magazine that, once the cat was out of the bag, they simply couldn’t keep the good news to themselves.

Chris, who is hoping for a future baseball player, is overjoyed, though he told the outlet he won’t push it if it’s not right. “We are not going to be one of those parents that says, ‘You have to do this,’” he said. “He can be an artist; just live his life! We don’t care.”

Congratulations, you two: Be he a little DiMaggio or Picasso Jr., here’s to a healthy baby boy!
