This week, and this site on the whole, is largely about how tech plays a part in aspects of life that are traditionally viewed as non-techie. Fashion, food, health, and event planning have only recently caught on that mobile and desktop tools can actually enhance just about everything. As emerging startups delve into wearable tech, we see even more ways in which fashion and technology are becoming bosom buddies.
When the folks behind the HP + Project Runway Ultrabook Bag Design contest asked us to chat a little about how technology and style intersect, we were an instant yes.
One of the things that is most interesting to us about this intersection is that involves some of the most creative people in the world. Yes, dancers, musicians, writers and more traditional artists continue to fill the world with unusual forms of color, sound, and story. But, it’s the creative people behind the development of new mobile devices, software, the perfect set of leggings, heels that are high fashion and high comfort that are busting their butts to create art for your everyday life.
No place is this more apparent than the search for the perfect laptop bag.
We are always on the hunt for the perfect one. We've fallen for a whole slew of chic purses that double as laptop bags, the Versetta iPad bag, can't wait until our Bedford Bags arrive, and channeled our inner student with a roundup of stylish backpacks. Brit even wrote a piece for KatieCouric.com last week listing her top 10 tech-friendly, stylish, and multi-functional bags for both kids and adults. Bags really are on our brains at all times.
Which brings us to the point of today's post: the HP + Project Runway Ultrabook Bag Design Contest!
With a brand new laptop comes new opportunities for innovative, stylish, and creative laptop bag designs. All sorts of would-be bag designers have been working feverishly to enter HP + Project Runway's contest, and are looking for your votes.
