You’ll Soon Be Able to Drink Booze at Barnes & Noble
If you like to take your time in the bookstore, wandering around and exploring all of the available mags, a little vinyl, and yes, even books, as well as enjoy a bite with a little booze, then you’re going to LOVE this news. Barnes & Noble will soon be serving full meals along with alcoholic beverages including wine and beer. Book shopping just got even MORE fun (and dangerous to our wallets).
In an attempt to boost dropping sales numbers, B&N is introducing four new concept stores (yes, only four for now while they see how it goes) that will serve breakfast, lunch and dinner menus as well as various types of beer and wine. “We wanted to create a better bookstore,” Barnes & Noble’s Jaime Carey told Fortune. “We think they’re going to drive traffic to the store and [be] keeping them in the store longer.” And booze and food aren’t the only ways they intend to keep customers around.
With the first location opening this October in Eastchester, New York, customers will be able to check out some super fun features including a bocce court, a fire pit and outdoor seating. Yeah, they’re taking this concept (whatever that happens to be) to the MAX. The following three stores will pop up in Edina, Minnesota; Folsom, California and Ashburn, Virginia.
The only problem now will be the staff attempting to evict us when we try to move in.
