Brighten up your indoor garden with a couple of these brass planters, and give your greenery a bit of a mod twist.

2. World Market Oval Faceted Mini Vases ($15, set of 3): Fresh flowers and spring practically go hand in hand, so it makes sense to boost your vase game with a few of these pretty pastel numbers. For $15 you get three vases — and you know home decorators say YAS about odd numbers.

3. Modcloth Ampersand One More Thing Figurine ($15): Add a touch of glamour and function to your desk or bookcase with this gilded ampersand. Design lovers and typography fans will love the way this guy adds glam to a shelf or desk space.

4. West Elm Ceramic Animal Planters ($12): Get creative with your coffee table decor and pick up a couple of these adorable animals to give your surfaces a little extra life. Add air plants or succulents to bring in some green, or set one on your nightstand as a jewelry catch-all dish.

5. Anthropologie Banded Lantern ($14+): If the promise of warmer weather has you dreaming of outdoor entertaining, you’ll need a few of these metallic lanterns in your party arsenal. For everyday use, they would look lovely hanging next to a window, or even just sitting in the middle of the table surrounded by flowers.

6. Maika Gold Dots Printed Canvas Bucket ($12): Spring and cleaning are pretty good BFFs. If you’re eyeing that messy drawer or cluttered office, you’ll want to have a couple of these polka-dotted canvas bucket bags ready to go. Spruce up your desk storage or use them in your bathroom to finally get a handle on that nail polish collection.

7. Umbra Zoola Monkey Ring Holder ($8): It’s the year of the monkey, so it only seems appropriate to have a monkey or two sitting around the house. Bring some good luck into your space with this cheeky brass ring holder and load him up with all your favorite finger bling.

8. CB2 SAIC 5-Piece Mountain Caddy Set ($16): Usually mountains on your desk equals piles of paperwork and clutter, but in this case, it’s okay to have a couple peaks on your horizon. Give your desk a makeover and use this five piece set to organize everything, from your pens and pencils to your air plant.

9. Modcloth Flair for the Prismatic Jewelry Stand ($30): Keeping your jewelry organized is not only a total bonus when ramping up your decor, it’s also crucial for keeping those pesky knots out of your favorite necklaces. This tall tripod stand is just the piece you need to display your statement earrings and longer necklaces.

10. CB2 Rolling Cube Sculpture ($25): Amp up your coffee table decor or bookcase with this pretty copper sculpture. It’s large enough to make a statement, but the minimal wire design is perfect for small spaces.

14. Forever 21 Matte Metallic Basket ($15): Compartmentalize all of your throw blankets or craft supplies in their own gold basket. These baskets are too cute to hide away in your cabinets, so give them new life on a shelf or under a side table, for the world to see how fashionable and organized you are.

15. Terrain Column Glass Vase ($10): Bud vases are the best thing for taking advantage of those spring blooms. You can cluster several together to create an arrangement on your coffee table, or place a single vase on your night stand for a clean, minimalist look.

16. Poketo Minature Lidded Basket ($26): Spring cleaners, stylish storage options are an actual thing, and these pretty mini baskets are proof. These lidded cuties will add a pop of personality to any room.

17. Lulu & Georgia Pomme Frites Candle Co. Sweet Grapefruit Reed Diffuser ($22): Candles are great for setting a mood, but you can’t leave them burning when you’re not around. A reed diffuser is brilliant for giving your home a fresh scent 24/7, and this grapefruit, peach and mangosteen scent promises to fill your room with spring-inspired tones of citrus and fruit.

18. Shiraleah Tribeca Bud Vase ($28): A geo pattern in pretty pastels is a win-win even when it’s not full of flowers. This vase would look at right at home in any modern living space. Fill it with ruffled peonies and cheery daffodils for tabletop perfection.

19. Lulu & Georgia Green Tea and Bamboo Candle ($14): This light fragrance brings tones of bergamot and jasmine to your home, and is a great way to freshen up that stale air when it’s still a little too chilly to open the windows. Even when it’s not lit, the neon green and gold-dipped look will totally brighten your space.

20. Leif Confetti Print Matchbox ($8): Once you’ve got the magical formula for a perfectly styled coffee table (candle + flowers + tray + books), it’s time to add the last secret ingredient: a gorgeous little matchbox. Now you’ve got Instagram magic.

21. Sea & Asters Mini Block Planter & Succulent ($27): Anything color dipped and geometric is a definite win. These mini block planters are the perfect size for a desk or a nightstand, and the combo of natural wood and pastel pink make these pots the perfect blend of Scandi chic.

I have such a love/hate relationship with haircuts. While I love the feeling of a fresh look as much as the next girl, I hate having to spend $100+ for a simple cut and blow dry session. During my recent trim, I talked with my hairdresser, Jack Rehak of Jack’s Hair Design in Hinsdale, Illinois, about ways to keep a haircut looking new and best practices for keeping hair healthy. Here's what he had to say!

Here's How Often You Should Cut Your Hair, According To Professionals

I’ll admit it — it had been eight months since my last haircut. My hair had lost its shape, my layers were nowhere to be found, and my ends were begging for mercy. Life got busy over the last few months and I was neglecting my haircare like never before.

My hairdresser could immediately see that I was beyond due for a cut and said I needed to get more taken off than I was hoping. I was definitely disappointed — I'd been working on growing out my hair for a while now, and it just felt like my hard work had completely gone to waste. He explained that getting consistent haircuts is the key to growing out healthy and strong hair, rather than letting it grow and grow until it eventually breaks. So let's dig into the top three things you can do to avoid this scenario!

1. Just Get The Dang Haircut

Also avoiding a haircut like I was? You might want to schedule one at your nearest salon. Like my stylist said, when you wait too long between trims like I did, you risk your hair becoming heavy, dull, and lifeless. When the hair is dry or even dead, it’s nearly impossible for it to hold a curl or style, essentially collapsing on you and taking on more and more heat damage all the while. I know the pain of spending time on a blowout only for it to fall minutes later — it’s the worst.

According to Jack, getting a haircut every 10-12 weeks is the best time frame or your ends will pay the price. Between blow-drying, curling, straightening, sun, and weather, our ends get dry and start to break without the proper care. Getting consistent haircuts allows hair to bounce back, shine, and perform the way we want in a healthy way.

2. Leave-In Conditioners Are Your Friend

His top piece of advice to keep your hair looking and feeling hydrated between trims? Invest in conditioning treatments. Jack swears by the Olaplex conditioning system, specifically the No 3 Hair Perfector. Made with patented OLAPLEX Bond Building Technology™, this conditioning treatment repairs and prevents damage in as little as three minutes. No 3 promises to reduce breakage and visibly strengthen hair, so it’s the perfect assistance to keep ends fresh between cuts. Another conditioning treatments I’ve used and loved for years is the Moroccanoil Intense Hydrating Mask, which is designed to restore moisture, elasticity, and shine to dry hair.

3. Switch Up Your Shampoos

Switching shampoos frequently is a pretty hot tip that I honestly hadn't thought of. Our hair gets used to the same products and grows tired of them, resulting in lackluster locks. Jack’s advice is to switch brands after finishing every bottle of shampoo to bring life back to your hair. Have two brands that you’re loyal to? Even switching back and forth between them after every bottle should make a big difference in your hair. I’m a huge fan of the R+Co Dallas Biotin Thickening Shampoo, which makes my hair look thick and full, as well as the Moroccanoil Hydrating Shampoo, which is so hydrating and gives so much shine.

In the end, navigating your back-and-forth relationship with haircuts often feels like a rollercoaster ride between wanting that fresh look and cringing at the receipt. Luckily, by using conditioning treatments and switching up your products,, you can keep your locks healthy, shiny, and full of life between trims. But take a newly learned lesson out of my book: don't let your ends pay the price for procrastination and just book the haircut.
