iOS 10 Will Make Sure You Never Forget Where You Parked Your Car

“Now, where did I park again?” For anyone who has ever parked in an expansive garage, only to come back and draw a total blank about where you left your car: With the impending release of iOS 10, which is now available in beta version to developers, your iPhone is about to become even nearer and dearer to you than it already is.

When iOS 10 goes public this fall, Apple Maps is seriously stepping up to the plate. The app will automatically drop a pin when you park your car and walk away. When you come back to a sea of parked cars, open Apple Maps and your phone will guide you back to your vehicle. Apple Maps will only do this when you park anywhere besides your home address.

The time-saving update was not announced at Apple’s WWDC event on Monday, but was detected by a developer playing with the forthcoming iOS. The option will show up in a lock screen widget, making it super easy to guide yourself back to your parked car. Other new Apple Maps features include the ability to book a rental car directly from your map and find stops like restaurants or gas stations along your route.

Never get caught in a sea of cars hitting the lock and unlock button on your key fob again.

I am a very prepared person, which means I do my best to handle life's unexpected chaos with grace. A recent curveball that I did not prepare for was my phone dying in the middle of New York City. When you live in Manhattan, there's always a show to see, friends to grab margaritas with, and events to attend. That means you lose phone battery pretty quickly, which is exactly the one thing you don't want to go without in the middle of the city.

Ahead of my show at Taylor Swift's Eras Tour, I was #influenced to buy this viral gadget to bring into the stadium with me — and it's the best portable phone charger I've ever used. I can't believe I've gone this long without it!

First Impressions

I grabbed the iWALK Small Portable Charger(which I got for $30), and the first thing I noticed was the size. The whole thing is smaller than my iPhone, meaning that it'll fit in just about any size bag and works with a lot of stadium concert rules!

It comes in multiple colors like pink and teal, but I got it in white.

The Timeline

I left for the concert at 2pm with a fully charged phone. I had to use Spotify, Google Maps, Uber, and my camera all before Taylor even came out, which means that by the time Gracie Abrams and Phoebe Bridgers had finished their opening acts (around 8 pm), my phone was on death's door.

The portable phone charger went right into the port and kept my phone alive for the rest of the night! It also didn't interfere with the audio in any of my recordings, which was super important to me.

Final Thoughts On This Portable Phone Charger

This product really surpassed my expectations because of how much power you get from such a small device. I've used it multiple times, and every time I do, my phone ends up fully charged, meaning I have enough battery for another round of adventures and antics.

I'll definitely have it in my bag all summer long. You can search on the internet for some other portable phone chargers for your summer, but this is definitely my favorite.

Sometimes it feels like you’re fighting against your iPhone’s camera to get the best pictures. You want clear, sharp, vibrant, and unique photos of your summer vacay to share on social media, but getting the hang of that tiny camera is keeping you from doing so. Capturing suitable images for The ‘Gram doesn’t always come naturally, but luckily, there are ways to hack your iPhone camera for better pics of your best memories – just read on for our top tips!

1. Before shooting, make sure you're working with the best quality.

Some of the iPhone camera’s default settings don’t set you up for the best picture quality, and you may not even realize it until you adjust your camera’s resolutions. A lot of the newer iPhone models automatically switch between several different lenses based on the situation you’re shooting in, which can result in blurry or low-quality pics. To eliminate a blur, go to Camera > Macro Control On. This disables the iPhone camera from switching lenses so you have more control in snapping the best, clearest images!

For high-quality video, enable 4K on your phone’s camera. All you need to do is go to Settings > Camera > Record Video, then select 4K from there. From now on, your videos will be sharp, clear, and perfect for sharing.

2. For selfies, hold the iPhone camera slightly above your line of sight.

Instead of holding your phone straight across from your face, raising it slightly above your line of sight, angled down, gives your selfies a more flattering angle. If you prefer to snap pics of your “better side” only, this tip comes in hot, allowing you to easily play around with different angles. Don’t be afraid to try shooting from different perspectives either! Moving yourself (and the camera!) around can help you find the #1 scene to take a selfie in.

When considering the background of your selfie, aim to eliminate any visual distractions. Posing against a solid background is extremely helpful in making sure all eyes are on you.

As far as selfie lighting goes, stray away from direct sunlight — you’ll be caught squinting, and that’s no fun for The ‘Gram. Diffused light (posing in shade, or on a cloudy day) supplies just enough light to flatter your image!

3. Use the Rule of Thirds. For the significant others that need some iPhone picture training, tell them to take some notes here.

The rule of thirds is your BFF when taking pics of others. To begin, ensure your iPhone camera’s grid is on. Go to Settings > Camera > Grid On. When you open the camera, you can now see the frame is divided into 9 equal rectangles – or 3 columns and rows – whichever way you think about the thirds, the grid will guide you in the picture-taking process!

You want to place your subject (the person you’re photographing) at the intersection of the grid lines. A good rule of thumb is making sure their eyes land around the top horizontal line. This gives them enough headroom, ensuring their head isn’t “chopped off” by the edges of the image frame, also leaving space at the bottom of the frame to accommodate for any full-body pics.

The grid is essential for non-people pictures, too. It’ll aid your composition skills for pics of beautiful latte art, sculptures, and more by eliminating background distractions and pulling attention solely to the subject.

4. Wide angle lens not cutting it? Try the iPhone camera's panorama mode.

@kienquancreates Easy iPhone camera hack #cameratutorial#iphonecamerahacks#photomagic#photography101♬ 原聲 - ABCandE

Whether you’re trying to capture vacay pictures with big landmarks, or just an artsy city skyline pic, sometimes the wide angle feature on the iPhone camera doesn’t give you enough space to work with. This panorama hack is the ultimate solution, so you don’t have to settle for weirdly cut-off images.

Start on your iPhone’s panorama feature, then turn your phone sideways and move it slowly upwards to capture tall buildings and vistas! You can stop the panorama feature at any time, so you’re not stuck with an image that has less-compatible dimensions.

5. For cool, motion-filled pictures, use the iPhone's long exposure feature.

Long exposure is a fun effect you can use to up your Insta game. These images capture slowed-down motion for added effect – think moving cars, walking crowds, and even sparkler photos or fireworks (light painting). To begin shooting long exposures on the iPhone, first take a picture on Live Mode. Once you’ve got an image you like, go to the Photos app. In the top left corner of your image, you can change the capture from Live to Long Exposure and see that the moving objects in your picture are blurred and add a unique component to your photo.

6. Hack the iPhone camera's Portrait Mode.

@rambosphotos I used to hate portrait mode before I found this little feature aswell #iphonetricksandtips#iphoneportrait#iphonecamerahacks#phonephotographytips♬ original sound - Rosie ⋆ London Photographer

In photography, the f/stop controls how wide your camera’s aperture is, which affects the depth of field (fancy speak for blurred backgrounds). The iPhone camera chooses the f/stop for you when live shooting in Portrait Mode, but you can take control of f/stop to alter the amount of background blur after the fact. Just take a photo in Portrait Mode, then Edit > f/stop on the top left of the screen. A lower f/stop number results in narrow depth of field (more blur, good for eliminating visual distractions), while larger numbers result in wide depth of field (less blur).

7. Use the iPhone camera's wide angle for cool 'fit pics.

The best part about this picture-taking tip is you can execute it by yourself. For the best outfit pics, use the .5 wide angle option on the iPhone’s back camera. Place your phone down low (can touch the ground), making sure you’re in-frame with some test shots. Once you've found the best perspective, pose by kicking a leg out towards the camera, reach your hand toward it, or lean down to look at the camera lens. Capturing with the wide angle setting adds a level of distortion to your pics for added personality. Happy Instagramming, bestie!

“Ladies, I need a bra,” Michelle in D.C. texted to our “SF Ladies+” chat group — our virtual lifeline that keeps us connected even as life has taken some of us away from San Francisco, where we all met. Here we do it all: celebrate birthdays, swap holiday wishes, dish out stories and cute kid pics, commiserate over the latest headlines, and of course, dole out some solid girl advice.

And Michelle couldn't have picked a better sample group. We're a diverse bunch, representing every shape and size, ranging from lighter A cups to fuller F cups.

Michelle's requirements went as follows: “I’m a B, so don’t need super support. I’m looking for something that doesn’t show under a T-shirt and keeps my nips from saying “hi” (so light padding), no crazy push up, stays in place, a lacy strap would be nice. And it doesn’t have an insert that falls out – those are so annoying. My current favorite is DKNY, probably from the last time I went to TJ Maxx.”

Here are the recommendations that followed!

Bra Fitting

Image via Nordstrom

First thing's first: you should probably get properly fitted for a bra.

"Nordstrom's bra fitters are legendary," says Robin. Apparently, most women are wearing the wrong size — typically, too small a cup size and too big a band size.

A lively side chat continues about who among us has experienced a Nordstrom bra fitting and whether some locations had discontinued the service. (They haven't!)

Best Bra Brands For Every Cup Size

FREYA Fancies Plunge Balcony Bra

Robin, who carries more than a B cup, chimed in first. “My favorite brands are Freya, Chantelle,Panache, and Fantasie." She also threw in Bare Necessities for the price point and as a one-stop shop for all of these brands.

We're all surprised by Robin’s vast knowledge of bra brands. "Clearly, I've been neglecting this category," responds Michelle.

Pepper Limitless Wirefree Scoop Bra

Deirdre, who has received a Nordstrom bra fitting (and yes, her cup size was too small and band size too big), suggested Pepper, a brand designed for smaller chests, or Uniqlo for a comfy wireless option.

Natori Flora Contour Underwire Bra

I seconded Pepper as a fellow B cup, and for a cute and lacy option I like Natori and Intimissimi.

Side note: I also just discovered Evelyn Bobbie underwear and I LOVE them — so comfortable and they don't ride up. Their bras are a solid option too, but don't check off the cute-and-lacy box.

Intimissimi Secret Garden Balconette Bandeau Bustier

I'm also partial to strapless bras for everyday. My straps always seem to fall down even when I tighten them so I've gone almost exclusively strapless lately. It makes it easier to take them off the minute I get home too!

Athleta Ritual Adjustable Bra A-C

Marie adds, “I’m a huge fan of Athleta Embrace, super comfortable but also a really beautiful shape. Unfortunately, it’s not a current style so you can only find on Poshmark, eBay, etc."

Third Love 24/7 Classic T-Shirt Bra

Tired of boob sweat, Christine laments her post-baby boob gain, “I’m a D now. I’ve fed my baby. Can I please go back to A cup?" She loves True & Co by Target and Third Love.

Natori Feathers Full Figure Contour Underwire Bra

Robin shares a story about her friend Megan, whose breasts seemed to have a life of their own, growing like magic beans, or magic boobs, a condition she inherited from her grandmother. I followed up with Megan, who has since undergone breast reduction surgery after her cup size reached a G.

"I didn't realize how severe my back and neck pain was until afterward," she shared. "They removed 4 pounds of breast tissue, and it completely changed my life." She swore by Natori bras for their feminine touch or had to resort to special-ordering sports bras designed for DDD+ athletes. "I love having so much choice now!" she says.

Understance Asymmetry-Friendly Chloe UniWire Demi Bra

"One gap I don't think has been filled in the market is what those of us with different cup sizes do," said Ann. "I’m a C on the right and DD on the left and ending up wearing a D that sags on one side and squashes me on the other."

Turns out this bra unicorn exists! For asymmetrical breasts, check out Understance and Third Love.

Victoria and David Beckham's relationship began when most millennials had to make it home before the street lights came on. In other words, they've been together for two decades! That's almost as long as Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew Broderick's 30+ year run!

What makes Victoria and David's marriage stand out is the fact they've both done exceptionally well in their careers — and looked good doing it. One is a former Spice Girls member turned successful fashion designer while the other is a notable soccer player who continues to receive all of his flowers. It just doesn't get better than this!

In celebration of our one and only Posh Spice's birthday today, we're sharing a timeline of all things related to David and Victoria Beckham's charming love story.

David And Victoria Beckham's Relationship Timeline

Image via Ian Walton/Getty Images

1997

The couple first met in 1997 and David Beckham detailed how it happened during an interview on The Ellen DeGeneres Show. Ironically the David Beckham thought he'd somehow blown it with his wife. He said, "She came to a football match—soccer match—and I said hi from across the room and that was it. I thought I’d missed my chance..." As we can, that wasn't the case!

Victoria actually detailed just how much their meeting affected her when she was featured on British Vogue's cover in 2016. She wrote, "And yes, love at first sight does exist. It will happen to you in the Manchester United players’ lounge – although you will get a little drunk, so exact details are hazy."

When David appeared on The Jimmy Fallon Show years later, he offered a few more details about that night. "We talked for about an hour in the players’ lounge...she wrote her number down on her train ticket, which I still have."

Image via Bruno Vincent/Getty Images

January 1998

After the couple started dating in 1997, they were engaged the next year. Like Victoria's British Vogue's letter said, "...love at first sight does exist..."

It seems like their love was extremely passionate because Victoria and David Beckham were awaiting the arrival of their son towards the end of that year.

March 1999

Victoria gave birth to the Brooklyn Joseph that next year and even talked what inspired his name in her book Learning to Fly. "I had always liked the name Brooke and then we suddenly thought about Brooklyn. I’d always liked it as a place — it’s very multi-cultural, very grounded," she said.

July 1999

According to People, the couple tied the knot at Luttrellstown Castle in Ireland in front of less than 30 guests.

Image via Kevin Winter/Getty Images

September 2002

After a few years of wedded bliss, the couple shared they were expecting another baby and welcomed their son Romeo James in September 2002.

February 2005

After the family moved to Spain due to David signing a contract with Real Madrid, they welcomed their third son Cruz David in 2005.

Image via Stuart C. Wilson/Getty Images

July 2007

Once David's contract with Real Madrid ended, the family gladly moved back to the U.S. because of his new obligation with L.A. Galaxy. Victoria told People the move would be "...especially nice for the children…to be able to be outdoors so much of the time will be wonderful. Brooklyn, Romeo, and Cruz were all under the age of 10 at the time.

August 2007

Shortly after the couple moved to L.A. with their sons, rumors started spreading about David's alleged affair. Victoria told W Magazine, "I’m not going to lie. It was a really rough time …David and I got through it together." She also mentioned that marriage isn't a walk in the park, but they'd become closer.

July 2011

By the summer of 2011, Victoria and David Beckham had welcomed their daughter Harper Seven to their family. We can only imagine how excited they were to have a girl join them!

June 2015

Somehow Victoria and David Beckham couldn't shake rumors surrounding their marriage. This time Victoria chose to open up about the state of their relationship with Grazia. She said, "We love each other, look out for each other and are strong as both partners and parents."

November 2015

When Victoria accepted Glamour's Woman of the Year Award in 2015, she made sure to thank her husband. She said, "He supports me, he encourages me to follow my dreams...fulfill my passions so thank you David."

January 2017

Victoria and David Beckham renewed their vows at the beginning of 2017 which the latter talked about during a conversation on BBC Radio 4's Desert Island Discs. "It was a lot more private, about six people there in our house...We stay together because we love each other, because we have four amazing children," the former soccer player gushed.

June 2018

Oddly enough, more rumors began circulating about the couple getting divorced. However, Victoria and David Beckham's rep quickly shut them down in a statement to People. "...fake news fueled by social media. There is no impending statement, no divorce," the rep said. Victoria even shared a cute pic of her and David's daughter Harper on Instagram with the caption, "Morning cuddles x So much love 🙏🏻 We love and miss u @davidbeckham 💕💕💕💕."

July 2018

During her feature interview for British Vogue, Victoria shed more light on the baseless rumors about her and David's marriage. "People have been making things up about our relationship for 20 years, so David and I are pretty used to ignoring the nonsense and just carrying on as normal. But these things have a wider effect on the people around us, and that’s unfair."

October 2018

David talked to Lisa Wilkinson of The Sunday's Project and reiterated that it takes a lot of work to maintain a marriage. "To have been married for the amount of time that we have, you know it’s always hard work, everybody knows that, but you make it work, you make difficult situations, like traveling away, being away from each other, you make it work," he said.

Image via Kevin Winter/Getty Images

July 2023

To celebrate being married for 24 years, David Beckham posted a moving tribute to he and Victoria's marriage on Instagramthat said, "On this day 4.7.99 ❤️ 24 years and counting 👵🏼 👴🏼 To the best wife , mummy & drinking partner ( most of the time 🤪 ) Happy Anniversary love u so much ❤️ @victoriabeckham@brooklynpeltzbeckham@romeobeckham@cruzbeckham#HarperSeven ❤️❤️❤️❤️."

December 2023

When Victoria and David Beckham's Beckham docu-series aired on Netflix, it was widely talked about. Victoria even admitted to Allure that things were a little different for the couple after people watched it. She said, "The other night, me and David drove to our country house and went to the local pub...someone had put a note under the windscreen wiper: ‘Dear Posh and Becks, On behalf of all the British football fans, we are sorry.’" This note referenced the way the couple were treated by the British during David's time as a soccer player.

As the saying goes, "All's well that ends well!"
