1. Casino Royale — Stream on MGM+
You know why fans love Casino Royale? It has all the class and charisma of the vintage James Bond films, with the additional modern-day special effects of the 21st century. Daniel Craig seamlessly slips into the role of James Bond to the point where it doesn’t feel like he’s acting a part- instead, it genuinely feels like Craig is James Bond. Plus, Hannibal Lecter- I mean, Mads Mikkelsen, is in it.

Columbia Pictures
2. Skyfall — Stream on Prime Video
Alexa, play the Adele song! My personal favorite Bond film is Skyfall, for a number of reasons. I love the bright blue color palette, the glamorously vintage influence on the score, and the overall ensemble’s on-screen chemistry. This one truly feels like a theatrical adventure from start to finish.

3. The Spy Who Loved Me — Stream on Prime Video
What makes The Spy Who Loved Me unique is that it shifts from the iconic 60s era into the 70s aesthetic. It’s cool to look back and uncover the technological shifts of the time period, the slick costumes, and the effortless charisma of Roger Moore, who gives his all to this role.

4. Goldfinger — Stream on Prime Video
Out of all the Bond films, one can argue that Goldfinger stands out as one of the most significant movies in the franchise. Everything from the rich score to the classic one-liners that we as fans now consider major clichés today had originated right here in the 1964 flick. In a way, it almost crystallizes the franchise as we recognize it today.

5. Doctor No — Stream on MGM+
Doctor No is brilliant for its high-stakes premise, superb acting, and creative character choices. Sean Connery seamlessly embodies this iconic character, bringing Bond’s intimidating coolness to a whole new level, which other actors who portray the role sometimes struggle to keep up with.

6. No Time to Die — Stream on Apple TV+
Don’t act like you didn’t love the 2021 James Bond flick and all its slick glory. No Time to Die has everything you could want in a Bond film, from gripping action scenes to gorgeous Bond girls and a good display of emotion compared to some of the earlier movies within this franchise.

7. From Russia with Love — Stream on MGM+
From Russia with Love is highly praised amongst the Bond fandom for a multitude of reasons. It feels effortlessly classic, tightly-scripted, and has stellar performances from Sean Connery and Lotte Lenya. The backdrop is something different for a change, and the storyline itself feels charged with cinematic tension that will keep you on the edge of your seat the whole time.

8. Thunderball — Stream on Prime Video
Thunderball feels most epic in terms of its chaotic premise. 007 is faced with a deadly set of hurdles on this gripping adventure film, as he meets a host of unforgettable characters along the way. Despite being a retro movie, the pacing still holds up for modern audiences in a way that feels impressive. Plus, it might just be Sean Connery’s best performance yet.
