Lip gloss, our go-to beauty bag essential, has found a new purpose thanks to the makeup masters behind Giambattista Valli鈥檚 latest Fall/Winter 2018 fashion show. In a move that looks straight out of Instagram,聽glitter lip gloss face masks have made it onto the runway 鈥 and we are enamored.

Yesterday morning in Paris, makeup maven Val Garland covered six girls鈥 faces and necks in聽heaping amounts of M.A.C聽Lip Conditioner聽($16) as a primer for the聽sparkly look. 鈥淵ou really want to press it into the skin,鈥 she told Elle.

Then, according to聽Elle, Garland filled a small Ikea tray with fine grade cosmetic glitter聽and bigger craft store flecks in an array of metallic shades.聽The artist then held up the tray and began to blow the glitter all over the models鈥 faces and necks resulting in a full-fledged glitter bomb. For a more vibrant effect,聽Garland聽used a soft brush to apply extra glitter to the eyes and the base of the nose and lips to ensure that every inch was covered.

Garland said backstage that the look is 鈥渇ull-on KiraKira,鈥 in reference to the beloved Instagram sparkle app that鈥檚聽become a social media staple for celebs and Instagram influencers alike. 鈥淚t鈥檚 like the glitterati look has taken over, but isn鈥檛 it really fun and kind of magic?鈥
