Jennifer Morrison Says Another Emotional Farewell to ‘Once Upon a Time’
As the series finale of ABC’s Once Upon a Time nears, many of the original cast members have been making their way back to set to shoot guest-starring roles as their beloved characters. Jennifer Morrison, who starred as Emma Swan on the show for six seasons, is one of them, and she shared a tearjerker of a goodbye from set as she films her final scenes.
“That’s a wrap! Wow! What a journey,” Morrison captioned a photo taken in what appears to be her trailer on set. “Thank you to everyone in the cast and on the crew for making my last day so special.”
Morrison then got even more personal. “Emma Swan will live in my heart forever,” she shared. “And I will be forever changed by #onceuponatime … Cheers to spreading the magic!”
Morrison ended her six-year stint on the show in May 2017, citing a desire for a creative and personal change. Not long after, costars Jared Gilmore, Josh Dallas, Ginnifer Goodwin, and Emilie de Ravin also announced their departures from the show, and in February 2018, ABC announced that season 7 would be the show’s last.
In recent weeks, it was revealed that Gilmore, Dallas, Goodwin, and de Ravin would also join Morrison in reprising their characters’ roles for the final episodes. “We couldn’t think of a more fitting way to say farewell than by reuniting so many of the characters that our fiercely loyal fans spent years with on their adventures,” executive producers Adam Horowitz and Edward Kitsis said in a statement to EW. “We hope everyone joins our Once family, old and new, for what we hope will be the sendoff of a lifetime befitting this stellar cast and its incomparable fans.”
The Once Upon a Time finale is scheduled to air on May 18, 2018, on ABC.
