Oh boy! Mickey Mouse really looks good for being almost 90! The most iconic rodent in history will be celebrating this significant milestone with a brand new show entitled Mickey: The True Original Exhibition opening on November 8 in New York City. It’s a great real-world reminder of Walt Disney’s famous quote, “I only hope that we never lose sight of one thing — that it was all started by a mouse.”

The 16,000 square-foot interactive experience will feature a wide array of artwork from a collection of famous and up-and-coming artists, all inspired by Mickey being a “true original” and one of the world’s most (if not most) recognizable faces. The exhibit will touch upon his humble beginnings on a boat in Steamboat Willie to his technicolor shorts to his impact on today. Famous Mouse moments will be reimagined in what promises to be a seriously delightful look at Mickey.

Mickey: The True Original Exhibition will include giant multimedia art installations, photo-worthy experiences (read: selfie time), and various surprises that we’ll have to wait until November to hear about. They’re all designed to capture the timeless joy that Mickey has effortlessly maintained over the past 90 years. The Mickey fest will open at 60 10th Avenue in New York City on November 8, 2018, and will run until February 10, 2019. Tickets are available for $38 per person.

If you have no plans to be in NYC during this time span, don’t worry; there will be a whole bunch of different ways to celebrate Mickey. In preparation for the big opening day, three pop-up locations across the country will open to offer a sneak peek of the work by the artists Kenny Scharf, Amanda Ross-Ho, and Shinique Smith, all of whom pay will be paying tribute to famous Mickey Mouse merch such as the Mickey Mouse watch, the Mickey Mouse t-shirt, and the Mickey Mouse stuffie.

Additionally, Walt Disney World Resort in Florida and Disneyland in Shanghai will celebrate Mickey’s birthday from November 16-18 with unique merchandise, foods, and drinks. The Disneyland Resort in California will host a celebration cavalcade for Mickey Mouse on November 18. The Disneyland Resort in Hong Kong will offer up special tickets, foods, drinks, goods as well as “We Love Mickey” projection show. All of these will lead up to the World’s Biggest Mouse Party, a limited-time, global celebration of Mickey and Minnie at all the parks and on the Disney Cruise Line.

Of course, this also happens to be a perfect time to release commemorative Mickey Mouse goods. The Mickey Mouse 90th Anniversary Product launch includes new kicks by Vault by Vans, threads by Forever 21, sugary treats from Sugarfina, exclusive ice creams from Ample Hills Creamery, and new capsule collection at Disney stores and ShopDisney.com. Plus to get reacquainted with Mickey’s comedic genius, the Walt Disney Animation Studios will be releasing “Celebrating Mickey” featuring 13 classic short films.
