After taking a pretty big break from music over the last few years, Miley Cyrus has come roaring back with her gorgeous ode to fiancé Liam Hemsworth, “Malibu.” While she admits that the past few years have brought some regrets (like her “Wrecking Ball” video), the singer seems happier than ever and her mom, Trish Cyrus, has spoken up about what’s making her daughter the happiest she’s been in years.

During an interview with E! News, Mama Trish and Miley’s sister Brandi shared that Miley’s current state of mind is due, in part, to knowing herself more than ever. “Something I really respect about Miley is that she really does truly know what’s important and what matters,” said Brandi, adding that her sister doesn’t overdo her work schedule any more, focusing less on touring and more on “her life, her animals, and her family,” while Trish added, “She’s in such a great place, so happy, and I think the music really reflects that.”

Not only is Miley’s music reflective of her current state of happiness, but it seems the whole family is living off of the joy that it brings, so it comes as no surprise that Miley’s “Malibu” inspiration is bringing happiness to everyone else. “I will say I love Liam,” Tish admitted. “I’ve known him forever. Absolutely cannot be more obsessed.” Same here, Tish.
