Call it the battle of the dips: Salsa and hummus have BOTH skyrocketed in popularity in recent years, and the trend doesn’t look to be stopping any time soon. Whether you’re a fan of salsa recipes or hummus recipes, one thing’s clear: You *need* to have at least one of these popular dips in your cupboard when you plan on entertaining. Lucky for you, if you’re running short on time, it’s simple to pick them up from your local store. In fact, 56 percent of millennials have done just that. We were a little surprised that the salsa vs. hummus debate wasn’t closer 50/50. But admittedly, salsa IS pretty good, and arguably a lot more versatile. Most of us seem to prefer spicy salsas (as opposed to savory or sweet varieties), while 78 percent of hummus-lovers prefer their chickpea dip with some flavorful mix-ins (herbs, veggies, and spicy condiments top the list). In the end, most of us would have to choose between the two dips… but that’s why a spicy salsa-infused hummus is SUCH a good idea.
