Serena Williams Dressed Like a Rockabilly Girl for Her Baby Shower
We thought we’d seen it all when it comes to baby shower themes, including tropical and Peter Rabbit parties. But boy, were we wrong. Serena Williams just threw the pre-baby bash with an idea we never imagined.
The tennis champ, who is currently expecting her first child with fiancé Alexis Ohanian, had the baby shower to end all baby showers with her ‘50s themed bash at Nick’s Diner 50 in West Palm Beach, Florida.
In a shot from her Instagram page, Williams and friends (who just so happened to include Ciara, Eva Longoria, Kelly Rowland, sister Venus, and LaLa Anthony) could be seen looking sock hop-ready. “When you and your crew go so far back to the ‘50s. Even then they had your back,” the 35-year-old wrote. The look was full of rockabilly and pinup styles with plenty of long flared poodle hoop skirts, polka dots, and va-va-voom red lips.
And to stay on-trend with social media, the party featured the hashtag #shakerattleandroll2017. As for the guest of honor, Williams wore a yellow poodle circle skirt and a spotted petticoat, a string of Wilma Flintsone-esque pearls, and some old black and white shoes.
For party favors, there were plenty of poodle-toppers for the old school candies decorating the room, courtesy of Darcy Miller Designs.
But possibly the most adorable touch was that William’s fiancé showed up to the bash dressed like Danny Zuko, greased cowlick and everything! He’s just a Kenickie short of the T-Birds.
