Netflix鈥檚 13 Reasons Why聽has left us聽wanting more. The show, which addresses the issue of teenage suicide in 13 gripping episodes, is based on a book of the same name. While a second season seemed unlikely, considering the final episode mirrors author Jay Asher鈥檚 ending, there could be more still to come. In an interview with聽Entertainment Weekly, Asher keeps it open-ended.

鈥淚鈥檇 just like a continuation of all those characters,鈥 Jay Asher says. 鈥淚鈥檓 curious as well.聽What happens to Clay? How do people react to what Alex did at the very end? What鈥檚 going to happen to Mr. Porter? I鈥檇 thought of a sequel at some point. I鈥檇 brainstormed it, but decided I聽wasn鈥檛 going to write it.鈥

It鈥檚 clear that Asher is just as obsessed with his characters as we are, and that the cast loved working together too. Asher tells EW, 鈥淚鈥檇 love to see it,鈥 yet he says confidently that he鈥檒l never write another sequel.聽鈥淵ou can explore that world further in a different medium,鈥 he continues, 鈥渁nd the book will still be able to be itself. I don鈥檛 think the show is affecting what the book is saying.鈥

Good enough for us. We just hope they鈥檒l get cracking on that next season sometime soon!
