Whoa: Apple Is Majorly Upping Their iPad Game Next Year
Although we’ve been paying a lot of attention to the rumors of a new iPhone coming out next month (and an even better one next year!), we should also be keeping our eyes on Apple’s iPad game, according to a new leak.
Reportedly, Apple will come out with three (yes, THREE) versions of the iPad next year. They are rumored to include a 12.9-inch iPad Pro 2, a 9.7-inch iPad at a lower cost and a 10.5-inch iPad Pro — a completely new size for Apple’s tablet screens. The new screen size could be a result of a new Apple patent, the wraparound screen. It was previously thought to have been for the iPhone, but some are speculating that the edge-to-edge screen could show up on next year’s iPad instead.
The leak also stated that the iPads may premiere flexible OLED screens — but perhaps not until 2018. The new screens (which could be edge-to-edge) would have some leeway for movement, which means they may be less likely to crack, but that does not necessarily mean that the iPad itself will be able to bend. However, there is a lot of speculation that the new screens could cause a revolutionary shift in user interface and design. We’re going to dream big here and pray for the day that Apple shows off an iPad that can easily roll up.
We’ll deserve it by 2018, right?
