What Men Want (February 8): Inspired by the 2000 comedy What Women Want, starring Mel Gibson and Helen Hunt, this female-centric redo stars Taraji P. Henson as a sports agent who gains the ability to hear men's thoughts — which she then uses to her advantage as she sets out to sign the NBA's next big star and give her career a major boost. The Prodigy (February 8):The Prodigy is one of a few scary movies opening in theaters in the depths of February's chill. Orange Is the New Black's Taylor Schilling stars as a mother who must delve into her past to find out what has caused her young son to become possessed by an evil being. The movie was reportedly so scary that it had to be re-edited, so that's cool cool cool cool, not too scary at all, nope. (Photo via Rafy/Orion Pictures)
The Lego Movie 2: The Second Part (February 8): This is the direct sequel to 2014's The Lego Movie but the fourth film in the Lego movie franchise (including The Lego Batman Movie and The Lego Ninjago Movie). It takes place five years after the events of the first film, by which time the Duplo invaders have all but destroyed Bricksburg. Emmet (Chris Pratt) tries to remain optimistic but finds himself on a rescue mission for his friends after they're kidnapped by the Duplo invaders. Elizabeth Banks, Will Arnett, and Nick Offerman are back in top form, alongside franchise newcomers Tiffany Haddish and Stephanie Beatriz. (Photo via Warner Bros. Entertainment)
Cold Pursuit (February 8): If you're looking for an appropriately icy action flick, this one — starring Liam Neeson as a Rocky Mountains snowplow driver seeking revenge against a drug cartel for his son's death — should do the trick. Laura Dern and Emmy Rossum also star. (Photo via Doane Gregory/Lionsgate)
Alita: Battle Angel (February 8): Early reviews for this manga-inspired thriller are mixed, but there's a lot of buzz around the project anyway. First announced by James Cameron back in 2003, the big-budget blockbuster-hopeful mixes CGI animation and live action to tell the story of a cyborg bounty hunter in a post-apocalyptic world. Isn't It Romantic (February 13): This rom-com about rom-coms arrives just in time for Valentine's Day, because the movie theater gods are good to us like that. Rebel Wilson stars as a woman who finds herself trapped in a romantic comedy with a handsome stranger played by Liam Hemsworth, her best friend (Adam Devine), and the beautiful woman her best friend loves (Priyanka Chopra). Fighting With My Family (February 14): Florence Pugh plays real-life WWE wrestler Paige, who grew up in a family of professional wrestlers and went on to become the youngest winner of the WWE's Divas Championship in 2014. How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World (February 22): The third and final installment in the How to Train Your Dragon trilogy finds Hiccup (Jay Baruchel) searching for the mythical Caldera, a virtual dragon paradise that may be the species' only hope of escape from a new villain named Grimmel. America Ferrera, Jonah Hill, Cate Blanchett, and Kristen Wiig return to lend their voices to some of the franchise's most beloved characters. (Photo via DreamWorks Animation)
