What is 'Lazarus' about?

The upcoming Harlan Coben-written series will follow the character Lazarus, AKA Laz (Claflin), who is forced to grapple with his dark past following the tragic passing of his father, who recently committed suicide. The heartbreaking event leads Laz down an unexpected rabbit hole of cold cases, which includes the mysterious death of his sister, which occurred nearly three decades prior. How will he go about solving these cases, considering how personal they are to him?
Is 'Lazarus' based on a book?

What’s interesting about Lazarus is the fact that it was written by novelist Harlan Coben, but it’s not actually based on a book. Instead, the author believed his idea would work far better as an on-screen series, mainly due to the strengths of a visual medium when it comes to telling ghost stories. He explained in a recent interview with Radio Times while discussing the upcoming series, "I thought, 'I could write this as a novel, but I'm seeing it as a TV series'. It's a little more of a ghost story, very visual,"
As a fan of Coben’s novels, I’m looking forward to seeing how he’ll capture his vision through a different medium. The writer has a history of adapting his books into movies and shows, but how will this look without a book to use as a reference point? Only time will tell!
