How to Make This Ridiculously Adorable Pom-Pom Tassel Wall Hanging

Y’all, we’re addicted to making pom-poms. Admitting the problem is the first step, right? TBH, we can pinpoint the moment we became obsessed: when we discovered the magical pom-pom maker. Since this fateful moment, we’ve made a glorious pom-pom vest, a watermelon pom keychain, a gussied up duvet cover and even a new year’s resolution tree. The struggle is REAL.

Clearly, tassels were our gateway drug. What’s a DIY’er to do? At this point, the only thing to do is feed the beast with more pom-pom projects, so that’s exactly what we’ll do. Enter the pom-pom tassel wall hanging, AKA the wall art your living room has been missing. Join us in our pom-pom fever, won’t you? :)

Materials and Tools:

Psst: Don’t have a pom-pom maker on hand? Try this nifty trick instead.

Hello, you beautiful li’l things.

To make a pom-pom, place both pieces of the maker together. Pull out a pair of arms, then wrap yarn around both arms until you’ve made a full half-circle. Repeat on the other set of arms, tuck all arms back into the maker, then trim the end of the yarn. Next, cut down the center of each half-circle of yarn (don’t be afraid!). Cut a nine-inch strand of yarn, then tightly double knot through the center of the maker. To remove the pom-pom from the maker (AKA set that baby free!), pull out all arms, then pull each maker half away from each other. Trim the pom-pom into a perfect circle. You’re done!

Wondering how we made those two-toned poms? Simply switch up the yarn colors for each set of arms.

Onto the tassel! Wrap a hefty amount of yarn around all fingers but your thumb. The more yarn you wrap around, the fatter your tassel will be. Double knot a piece of yarn around all layers. Bring this knotted strand to the top, then pinch all the yarn below. Tie another strand around ALL the yarn to make the “neck” of the tassel. Then trim the very bottom with fabric scissors. Check out a more in-depth tassel tutorial here!

Next, cut your rope into varying lengths. Make a small loop at the top of each with a hot glue gun, then let ’em dry.

Psst: Be sure to save 4-5 feet of rope for hanging the pipe!

Once the glue has hardened, you can loop each rope around the copper pipe.

Use a hot glue gun to adhere the base of the rope directly into the pom-pom.

Try looping the rope through the head of the tassel, then glue the rope to itself to make another loop. Trim the excess tassel yarn as necessary.

Thread that extra 4-5 feet of rope through the copper pipe. We fastened the rope to the hook of a thin pen so we could easily feed the rope through.

Tie each end of the rope to itself, then glue a pom-pom over the knot.

Voila!

Now seems as good a time as any to make #yarnporn a thing, right?

We couldn’t resist pairing it with a tasseled pillow. Now we HAVE to make a pom-pom throw to round it out.

Happy pom-pommin’!

Amanti Art White Bouquet by Julia Purinton Framed Canvas Wall Art

We can hear Miranda Priestly rolling her eyes and saying, "Florals for spring? Groundbreaking," but this custom canvas painting has a welcoming aura that's perfect for your entryway. It has a hint of whimsical romance due to Julia Purinton's use of glaze, acrylics, and oils.

Modern Blue Vase II By Farida Zaman

This modern, minimal floral art from Target is so calming. It could work well in just about any room, but I'd love to see it in a gallery wall wherever it lands. The navy blue paired with the gold frame is elegant, yet simple enough to compliment any other art and photos around it.

Amanti Art Natural Bouquet I Gray by Julia Purinton Framed Canvas Wall Art

If you want to tend to plant babies without having to deal with keeping them watered, this natural bouquet painting makes for a great addition to your kitchen. The terracotta, peach, and charcoal grey vases house beautiful stems that'll brighten your kitchen.

Spring Florals By Marisa Anon

These bold flowers are a fresh and fun way to take on florals as the weather warms up! The playful lines and bright colors could seem childlike, but the abstract nature of it all is extremely chic. Grab this if you're looking to make a statement!

Floral Spring Framed Wall Art - Threshold Designed With Studio MgGee

It's no secret that I love Studio MgGee, so I'm not surprised that I completely adore this dainty floral duo. The mustard yellow of the background is bold, but it's also neutral enough to fit into most spaces. Plus, these delicate little flowers will add a touch of whimsy to your space.

Amanti Art Blue Spring II by Isabelle Z Framed Canvas Wall Art

But, keep it simple with a painting that's designed with spring in mind like this framed Target wall art. The navy blue flowers will bring a smile to your face as you sip coffee by the window and listen to the birds chirp their happy spring song.

Threshold Antique Floral Framed Canvas Board

This painting may have a moody aesthetic, but it's only because spring can be moody. Whether you're embracing a sunny or rainy day, this wall art will bring a touch of Bridgerton elegance into your home.

Threshold Orchid Flowers Framed Wall Art

Add a pop of color to your hallway with these orchid flowers wall art by Threshold. The walnut brown frames nicely contradict the painting, creating a rectangular shape that's sure to grab your attention when you walk by.

Threshold Summer Pasture Framed Wall Art

Target wall art is known for either being beautifully understated or bold, which is why this painting can be another focal point of your entryway.

Warm Colors Scenic Landscape Framed Canvas

These bright, warm colors are the perfect addition to liven up your living room. I love how it's paired with a natural looking wood to bring out the more neutral colors, too. It allows the piece to blend in or stand out as you wish!

Laundry Day II By Grace Popp

So much scenic wall art tends to be landscapes and beaches, so I'm totally hear for this little slice of life we're getting with "Laundry Day II" by Grace Popp. The bright, bold colors are gorgeous, bringing you right into the charisma of wherever this scene is.

Silent Still Framed Wall Cotton Canvas Board

Nobody's heard from Claude Monet since this "Silent Still" went on sale at Target. For less than $30, you can get this tranquil scene that could arguably hang in your favorite museum.

Abstract Target Wall Art

Olivia & May Set of 2 Contemporary Abstract Framed Wall Art

Your mind may not think of the color black when you dream of spring, but contemporary, abstract wall art is known for accentuating neutral living room decor. When you open your blinds, the sunlight will reflect off this set of paintings and creating a welcoming environment for you and guests.

Paper Object No. 5 By The Miuus Studio

This simple use of shapes is so incredibly effective. The dark, halved circle draws your eyes right to the center, with the lines leading you outward as you look on. That effect makes "Paper Object No. 5" the perfect addition to your gallery wall, IMO.

Color Blocks Framed Wall Canvases

These framed wall canvases certainly make a statement with their colorful nature. Filled with shades of yellows, blues, and reds, the primary colors shine in their simplicity.

Megalith I By Jacob Green

"Megalith I" is giving the midcentury look of my dreams. I could totally see this pairing perfectly with a modular sofa or a conversation pit out in 60s California. While that's not my house now, a girl can dream, right?!

Sylvie Japandi Set Of 3 Framed Canvases

I've said it once, and I'll say it again: navy and gold really are everything. This set of 3 canvases is crisp, clean, and honestly so cute. Put it in your hallway, your office, or wherever you see fit — they're versatile enough to really go anywhere you want!

Kate & Laurel Sylie Thinking Of You Framed Wall Art by Rachel Lee Natural

This framed print makes for a great addition to your bedroom because it features a blend of pastel colors that accentuate the outline of a woman's body. We like to think it's a reminder that your room is your safe space.

Target Wall Decor Accents

Hand Woven Jute/Polyester Wall Art With Wooden Dowel

Woven accents are wonderful ways to add some texture to your walls. The earthy browns will bring a natural, grounded sense to your space.

Olivia & May Metal Sunburst Wall Decor with Capiz Accent

Or, take a nod from the sun's rays by adding this metal sunburst wall decor to your hallway. It'll serve as a bright spot when your days feel dreary.

Project 62 Mid-century Metal Wall Decor

Not a fan of having metal wall decor in your hallway? Leave it for your office instead! This mid-century design by Project 62 is under $100 and will pair well with the rest of the decor you've picked out.

Cosmoliving by Cosmopolitan Metal Abstract Wall Decor

Craving a little more glam? Cosmoliving by Comopolitan has something you may like. It features interlocked oblongs that create an abstract design that'll set the tone for your office.

Pillowfort Rattan Arch Leaf Kids' Shelf

This is technically a kids' shelf, but we'd like to think you can use it as wall art. Rattan is comforting for different reasons and feels like it complements the carefree nature of spring, so why not have a piece of it at home?

Anne Hathaway's The Idea of You just debuted with a 100 percent score on Rotten Tomatoes, and now we're even more excited to see this 2024 movie! Anne's talked about her husband Adam Shulman during some of the press for the movie, which has us asking the question, "Who is Adam Shulman and how did they meet?" Well you might be interested to find out it's actually super similar to the onscreen meet-cute in her newest film.

In The Idea of You, we see two characters meet and fall in love at a music festival (Coachella to be specific). Well, you wouldn't believe it but Hathaway and Shulman's real life meet-cute is not that far off! Although Shulman wasn't in a boy band and Hathaway wasn't an eager audience member, they were both at film festival in Palm Springs when they met. Hmmm, coincidence right?!

Now fast forward to 2024, and Hathaway and Shulman are still together and as in love as ever! Hathaway said in a recent interview with Drew Barrymore, "I’m my own person, he’s his own person, and we choose to be together because we believe we make each other better and this union is something we both want to participate in." We're obsessed with them and we know that once you hear about their incredible love story, you will be too. See their full relationship timeline below!

Who is Anne Hathaway's husband Adam Shulman?

Adam Shulman is Anne Hathaway's husband of 14 years, and father to their two children, Jonathan (8) and Jack (4). While they've been happily married since 2012, he and their children remain mostly out of the spotlight. Here's what we do know: Shulman's been an actor since the early 2000s, he produced Hathaway's Song One, and he's now primarily a jewelry designer (he actually designed Hathaway's engagement ring himself). They're also both native New Yorkers, born and raised!

April 2008 — Anne Hathaway and Adam Shulman Meet At A Palm Springs Film Festival

Anne Hathaway & her husband met through mutual friends at a film festival in Palm Springs in 2008, and Hathaway thought he was "the one" almost immediately. "I knew from the second I met him that he was the love of my life," she tells Harper's Bazaar UK. And after they met, their connection grew even stronger. Hathaway has talked about how her trust was broken in a previous relationship so falling in love with Shulman was a "ridiculous joyride."

After months of dating and being seen out and about by the paparazzi, the pair started attending award shows together in the latter portion of 2008. By January 2009, Shulman accompanied Hathaway, alongside her brother, to an event where she received the Desert Palm Achievement award for her work on Rachel Getting Married.

In an interview with Vogue, Hathaway says they "hit it off immediately, but it took us a pretty long time to get together." Well, we suppose the saying is true that when you know...you know. And clearly Hathaway was smitten immediately!

November 2011 to September 2012 — Anne Hathaway and Adam Shulman Get Engaged and Tie the Knot

After three happy years of dating, the couple's rep confirmed they were engaged after Anne Hathaway was spotted wearing an engagement ring in early November 2011. In multiple interviews throughout the remainder of the year, Hathaway gushed about her new fiancée, and how content she was.

Then the couple said "I do" at a lovely ceremony along the stunning coast of Big Sur, California on September 29, 2012. According to The Hollywood Reporter, they had a luxurious ceremony at a private estate with 150 guests — talk about a BIG wedding! The guest list was reportedly made up of friends and family, meaning there were almost no celebrities or people from the industry invited. We love how private they are!

In the months following their wedding, Anne Hathaway won the 2013 Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for Les Misérables. Before accepting the award, Hathaway turned to embrace and kiss her date, hubby Adam Shulman. Later in her speech, Anne Hathaway says, "I want to thank my husband, by far and away the greatest moment of my life was when you walked into it. I love you so much."

January 2016 — Anne Hathaway and Adam Shulman Are Expecting Their First Child

After being married for a few years, the pair announced they were pregnant with their first child! The news broke with the pair celebrating what looked like a Hawaiian beach baby-moon. In an Instagram post celebrating her pregnancy, Hathaway says, "Posting a bikini pic is a little out of character for me, but just now while I was at the beach I noticed I was being photographed. I figure if this kind of photo is going to be out in the world it should at least be an image that makes me happy (and be one that was taken with my consent. And with a filter)."

July 2019 — Anne Hathaway and Husband Adam Shulman Are Pregnant With Baby #2

After baby Jonathan comes baby #2, Jack! And this time, Anne Hathaway took it upon herself to announce her own pregnancy via Instagram once more. "It’s not for a movie...⁣⁣#2," the star says in the caption. "All kidding aside, for everyone going through infertility and conception hell, please know it was not a straight line to either of my pregnancies. Sending you extra love."

Anne Hathaway has talked multiple times about how she really struggled with infertility. "Each time I was trying to get pregnant and it wasn’t going my way, someone else would manage to conceive," she says in an interview with theDaily Mail. "I knew intellectually that it didn’t happen just to torment me, but to be honest, it felt a little bit like it did."

December 2023 — Anne Hathaway Talks About Her Matching Tattoo With Her Husband

Today, Anne Hathaway & husband Adam Shulman maintain a fairly private life. Despite not divulging too much information in recent years, Hathaway recently revealed she actually shares a matching tattoo with her husband! "We actually have a tattoo," she tells Drew Barrymore. "The idea is that individually we’re whole, but together we’re more."

The star showed off her ink where you can see what resembles a "W" for "whole" one way, and "M" for "more" when flipped around. The actress continues, "I’m my own person. He’s his own person and we choose to be together because we believe we make each other better. And this union is something we both want to participate in.” Although they're their own independent people, they love connecting as a team because they're stronger together than they are separate. We love that sweet sentiment!

We're obsessed with this matching tattoo idea and think it is the perfect sign of their beautiful love story. We bet you're as in love with them as we are!

Set The Mood With Placement

Give your artwork the space it deserves to make it really shine. Landscape pieces in the dining room can create a serene vibe while bright and energetic artwork in a home office can inspire creativity. Let your art guide the mood and function of a room. Consider size, style and theme of the artwork when deciding where to display it too. Large, bold pieces can make an amazing focal point in a living room while smaller pieces grouped together make a great gallery wall. Singulart will create a collection based on your preferences to help you curate the perfect gallery wall too. Browse their curated picks too!

Play With Color + Texture

Consider your existing color scheme at home and choose art pieces that complement or contrast them. Bold, vibrant artwork can breathe new life into a neutral room, while textured pieces can add depth and playfulness to a minimal design. Want to give a piece you love the spotlight? Enhance the impact of your art with accent lights or natural light (just make sure to protect it as directed).

Rotate And Refresh

What’s fun about a personal art collection is that you can swap it in a new space for an instant refresh. Consider changing art with the seasons or moving art from one room to the next to give it more exposure in a high-traffic space.

Once you’ve begun to curate art pieces that resonate with you, it’s essential to take good care of your purchases so they’ll stand the test of time and continue to bring you joy.

Here are a few tips on how to preserve your art for a lifetime:

  1. Avoid hanging artwork in direct sunlight or in a space with extreme fluctuations in temperature. Sunlight can cause fading overtime, so explore UV-filtering framing options and be mindful of how the light can change in your space throughout the year.
  2. Keep a microfiber cloth or soft, clean brush on hand for routine dusting and cleaning of your art. Avoid any chemical cleaning solutions or water that could damage the work.
  3. Research the art trends associated with your work and learn more about the creator behind the art so you can take pride in the pieces you’ve curated and feel super knowledgeable about them.

Treat your art with love and care, and let your imagination run wild to create a collection that is truly a reflection of you and your creativity!

A quiet, lesser known pocket of Beverly Hills known as Beverly Hills Post Office (BHPO) shares the same popular zip code but is tucked up in the hills north of BH proper, where you'll score scenic ocean views. Amanda Leigh and Taylor Hahn of celeb-loved L.A. design firm House of Rolison were tasked with reimagining a 1950s Beverly Hills home in the coveted neighborhood for a modern era.

“It's our priority to maintain and enhance the original charm and soul of our homes,” says Leigh. Before the stunning reno, the home lacked a sense of flow with cramped rooms and a narrow kitchen, and had thick, dated carpeting throughout.

“The home was a bit of a mish mosh of styles, and had not been updated in quite some time,” adds Leigh. “We wanted to give it a cohesive style, while bringing light to its show pieces.”

Those show pieces included its wood vaulted ceilings that had been painted over, and the original fireplaces that had been closed and were no longer functioning properly.

The House of Rolison team breathed new life into the home, adding additional square footage and natural light, maximizing the home's stunning ocean and city views.

The fireplaces throughout the Beverly Hills home were restored, the ceiling stripped of its old paint, and the decor infused with a calming neutral earthy palette that grounds the design.

“BHPO has a lot of renaissance revival homes and this home was much more traditional. We wanted to make the home feel more tied into the homes of the area, while giving it its own playful flare,” says Leigh.

Leigh and Hahn let the home speak for itself, using restraint in terms of deconstruction and preserving a lot of the cool mid-century charm. The fireplaces exude warmth beyond raising the temperature.

“There were sections of wood paneling, original to the home, that inspired a lot of the design. Funny enough, during deconstruction, the original paneling completely fell apart," says Hahn. "We ended up rebuilding it, in a way that was more flattering to the space, and made it feel much more elevated.”

Bold natural stones are used in the kitchen and bath. “ It really gave a playful texture and refined the design in a way that really helped the final product sing,” says Hahn.

This green on green is spectacular. Bathrooms are drenched in marble, and architectural details throughout give the home a luxury vibe while still feeling not too fussy and precious. "It's less uptight than contemporary but still playful and bold," says Hahn. Moody vignettes throughout add personality and uniqueness too.

“We are known for combining styles that aren't necessarily supposed to be friends, but end up playing well together.” They did that a lot here with lighting and textures. "We would say it ended up being a more transitional style, which blends contemporary and traditional. Transitional style fuses a combination of modern and classic," says Hahn.

Thank you to House of Rolison for this stunning peek! Here are some BEFORE photos - eek!

BEFORE

BEFORE: Vaulted ceilings were roughly painted and the dated ceiling fan doesn't help the original design.

BEFORE: The kitchen was closed in and in desperate need of an upgrade.

BEFORE: The house has a sad exterior with old paint, exposed brick (not the good kind) and landscaping that needed some love.
