Get ready to let out your best collective “awww” — Prince George just met President Obama and First Lady Michelle for the first time at Kensington Palace, and the resulting snap is just about the most heartwarming thing you’ve ever seen. George stole our hearts with his sweet demeanor at Princess Charlotte’s christening last July, and again in his most recent portrait, but this photo takes the entire cake. Donned in a plush little robe over khakis and a button-up (hey, the kid has some serious style), the tiny royal offered a tentative hand to the President, who graciously bent down to accept it at eye level. Doting dad William is right beside the pair, warmly encouraging the apple of his eye, as is the First Lady.
In London for a private dinner with the Duke and Duchess, the Obamas also got a chance to see the prince — allowed up past his bedtime especially for the momentous occasion — show off his rocking horse skills on his trusty steed, a gift from the President himself. Mum Kate (looking stylish as ever in L.K. Bennett) also shared in the special moment with her son. Though fleeting (even a prince needs his beauty sleep!), it’s a moment in time we’re sure neither couple will soon be forgetting (how could you ever, with a face like that?), and neither will we.
