Terrazzo: It’s what’s hot in home decor. In fact, Pinterest saves for terrazzo have increased 316 percent over the past year. The composite, confetti-like flooring material that was oh-so-popular in the ’70s is showing up everywhere these days, even in furniture . Designer Anna Horvath embraces the terrazzo trend beautifully in her latest bright and bold furniture collection “Collezione L!Puff.”
The five-piece collection for Anna James featuring bright red and cobalt blue is inspired by minimalism and post-modern design and, of course, terrazzo, which Horvath, founder of Anna James, says is fun and functional. “People need fun,” she tells Brit + Co. “I find [terrazzo] a great surface material. For my collection, I was looking for a material that can be combined with the strong colored canvas and particle board. It gave me a great texture and a great combination.”
Horvath says it gives the overall aesthetic of her collection a “colorful, bright, and playful world filled with sarcasm.” How great would these pieces look peppered against otherwise neutral decor for a fun pop of color and personality?
The rocking chair ($575) and small stool ($144) can be ordered now and will be ready by the end of February or March. The prices and availability dates of the other pieces, including a chair, mirror with stand, and table, are still being determined, as she’s currently in talks with companies about the production of the terrazzo elements.
