Calling all foodies! We know what you love – adopting the latest food trends, securing reservations at the newest restaurants and snapping the ultimate Instagram food pic. But have you ever stopped to think about where that kale salad or artisan cheese comes from? The concept of farm-to-table is rapidly growing in the food scene, and we wanted to know more! As did fave food blogger, Naomi of Bakers Royale, who recently visited a local dairy farm in Northern California.
Naomi met with fourth generation farmer, Brian, and learned all about the sustainable dairy process at Fiscalini Farms. From milking the cows to handcrafting award-winning cheeses, get all the details over on her blog!
Naomi also took home some cheeses and whipped up a dish of Three Cheese Baked Ziti. You’re going to want to make this… get the full recipe here.
This food blogger’s experience touring a local farm makes us want to get out of the city and learn more about the food we eat everyday. You too? In the meantime, check out the video series Acres and Avenues from Dairy Good, about dairy farmers and urban millennials trading places for a few days.
