Dakota Johnson has some advice for feeling sexy this summer at the ready for the Tribeca premiere of Daddio in New York City. When Brit + Co's Chloe Williams asks for the TeaTime book club founder's best confidence-boosting advice, she responds with an enthusiastic, "Be naked!" It's pretty easy advice to follow (although some to use cautiously if you live on the first floor of a busy city street).
Here's our hilarious Dakota Johnson interview for Daddio.
@britandco We’re loving Dakota Johnson’s advice on how to feel sexy and confident all summer long! 🤩 #christyhall #dakotajohnson #daddio #moviepremiere #newmovie #movietok #filmtok #fyp #confidenceboost #confidentwomen
In Daddio, Dakota Johnson plays "Girlie," whose ride from JFK airport to her midtown apartment — and the conversation she has with NYC cab driver Clark — proves to be as life-changing as the trip she's returning from. The movie is perfect for fans of character-driven pieces, and it doesn't flinch away from talking about all aspects of modern relationships.
My favorite part of the movie is the bond that forms between Sean Penn's Clark and Girlie, even in such a short amount of time. "I hope audiences just remember humanity and remember that human connection is extremely important," Dakota, who also serves as producer on the movie with Ro Donnelly and Emma Tillinger Koskoff, says.
"It was incredible to be able to choose all of the people that were going to be making the film with us," she continues. "From the [Director of Photography] to grips and gaffers, and it felt like we were surrounding ourselves with people who are at the top of their game who are also very kind and wonderful, loving people, so it was a really nice environment."
@britandco Dakota Johnson on what it was like working alongside Chris Evans and Pedro Pascal on ‘Materialists’ 👀 #christyhall #dakotajohnson #daddio #moviepremiere #newmovie #movietok #filmtok #fyp #chrisevans #pedropascal #materialists
The Madame Web actress already has another buzzy movie on the horizon: rom-com Materialists. And it's one of my most-anticipated movies! She stars opposite Pedro Pascal and Chris Evans as a matchmaker who falls for a wealthy man, while still harboring feelings for an actor-waiter from her past. When asked about working with these two leading men, Dakota admitted, "They're both big idiots and I love them."
I can't wait to see these three onscreen together!
Dakota Johnson's Daddio is in theaters June 28. Check out the rest of our Summer Movie Preview to see what else is premiering this year.
