Actress Jaime King and her husband welcomed their second son exactly one week ago today. To announce the babe’s arrival, King posted a sweet Instagram of her whole family at the hospital a few days later. King captioned her photo: “We are SO happy to welcome to the world our new baby boy! Born Thursday, July 16th!” While of course, we were stoked to see that both King and baby were happy and healthy there was another detail we were hoping for… that baby name! If you’re as big of a baby name addicts as we are, we’ve got some good news, it has been revealed that the newborn’s name is Leo Thames Newman.
King and her husband Kyle Newman announced the name to celebrity news site, Just Jared. She told the site: “Kyle and I named our second son Leo Thames Newman. Our family couldn’t be happier welcoming another little angel into this world. Thank you for all of the support and well wishes.”
A source tells People Magazine, “Jaime and Kyle were married by the River Thames and Leo means strong and powerful.” According to Nameberry, the name Leo is of Latin descent and is currently seeing a resurgence in popularity. The name falls into the top five in France and the top 25 in the UK and Sweden. It is also the second most popular name in Finland. We’re betting once Taylor Swift starts Instagramming some snaps of her new godson, Leo’s popularity in the US is going to escalate faster than the pop star’s recent Twitter debacle.
