Live Long And Geek Out Over This MAC x Star Trek Makeup Collaboration
Have you ever envied the out-of-this-world makeup of the women of Star Trek? Well, MAC Cosmetics has finally got you covered. Riding high its record of collaboration successes, MAC has announced the upcoming release of a Star Trek-themed makeup collection — just in time for the TV show’s 50th anniversary.
The 25-piece collection will include lip, eye and face products — including glittery, metallic MAC’s Lipstick, Lipglass, Pressed Pigment Eye Shadow and Studio Nail Lacquer — inspired by Star Trek characters Deanna Troi, Seven of Nine, Uhura and the Orion Girl, Vina.
“Star Trek is an iconic pop culture phenomenon whose storylines pushed gender and racial boundaries,” said MAC creative director James Gager in a statement. “For its 50th anniversary, we celebrate each of Star Trek‘s powerful women in a transcending, transformational makeup collection.”
From the teaser images, we’re anticipating a collection heavy on glitters and metallics (including a bronze-y lip shade that would be perfect for a sunkissed strobing look). The sci-fi makeup collection will be released online on August 25 and in select MAC locations on September 25 but the collaboration will make it big consumer reveal for a one-day pre-sale at (appropriately) the San Diego Comic Con on July 21.
The MAC x Star Trek collection looks like the perfect marriage between your inner geek and your outer makeup junkie. Trekkies rejoice!
