The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel herself is returning to our screens, this time to tackle a much grittier role than her mega-successful stand-up character on the hit Prime Video show. We all adored Rachel Brosnahan on Mrs. Maisel, but this time around, she’ll be leaving the pristine New York streets of the 1960s in exchange for modern-day Chicago in her upcoming Netflix film, Saturn Return.
As of now, the film is very hush-hush, yet here’s all the info we’ve gathered on Saturn Return so far.
What is the movie Saturn Return about?
Saturn Return is a coming-of-age film, tackling the more care-free days of university and the harsh realities that follow graduation as the characters enter their adult lives. It’s the classic tale of shattered illusions that go hand in hand with adulthood, where all your adolescent dreams seem to melt before your eyes thanks to real-world obstacles. What becomes of these once starry-eyed characters in their 10 years post-graduation? How do their relationships come together and fall apart?
On a personal level, my absolute favorite movies/TV shows are the ones that span multiple years, and closely follow the ebb and flow of friendships that have essentially grown up together. My exact cup of tea!
Despite the little information we’ve been given for the upcoming Netflix movie Saturn Return, fans can’t seem to contain their excitement for the film. Cinephiles took to Reddit to comment on their thoughts on the project.
“Rachel has what it takes to be the best actress of her generation,” one commenter wrote.
“Excited to see Melton in more films,” another said.
