Everything We Know About 'The Paper' Season 2 On Peacock

Where are my The Paper fans at? If you, like me, can’t get enough of this stellar new show (which is also a spinoff of The Office, FYI), you’ll be thrilled to hear that a second season of the comedy series has just been announced. The TV Gods are delivering in 2025, and I am oh-so here for it!
Here’s everything you need to know so far about The Paper season 2, coming to Peacock soon.
Will there be a season 2 of The Paper?

Aaron Epstein/PEACOCK
Yes, we're getting The Paper season 2! The news was announced on September 3, ahead of the series premiere on the 4th.
What is The Paper on Peacock About?

Aaron Epstein/PEACOCK
Following the mockumentary style of The Office, which followed Scranton, Pennsylvania’s Dunder Mifflin paper company, The Paper takes a look at the underdogs writing for a struggling local newspaper, filled with what is perhaps the least qualified journalists on planet earth. (When boss Ned Sampson asks if any of the staff actually have any previous experience with writing, one employee says he wrote a paper once in Junior high. Another says, reluctantly, that he tweets. And a third “journalist” chimes in that he’s a part of a group chat…. Not exactly Pulitzer Prize winners on staff.) Such a messy group of employees makes for a horrible company, but a stellar TV show.
When Will The Paper Season 2 Premiere?

Aaron Epstein/PEACOCK
Since the news has just broken out, there’s no official release date yet for the second season of the mockumentary-style comedy. But the fact that the second season was greenlit a day before its first episode streamed on Peacock isn't too shabby, eh? Not bad at all.

What Do Fans Have To Say About The Paper on Peacock?

John P. Fleenor/PEACOCK
As a mega-fan of The Office, I know how picky our fanbase is when it comes to our selective taste in television. Yet when it comes to The Paper, audiences have nothing but praise when it comes to the delightful new series on the streaming platform. In fact, some fans are even claiming it might turn out to be even better than The Office, which is no easy feat.
“LOVED THE SHOW. I think they've made it even better. The Office was tough to watch at the beginning, this lands far better, and I have a feeling it's going to get even better,” one commenter wrote on the TV subreddit.
“I hope they make more! It’s got a good feeling, interesting characters, and is more unique than I thought. I’m here for it!” said another.
Is The Paper a sequel to The Office?

Aaron Epstein/PEACOCK
This show isn't a direct sequel to The Office, but it's definitely for fans of the OG. As someone who will never stop raving about my obsession with The Office, I’m thrilled that Greg Daniels has returned to the mockumentary sitcom world with this brilliantly comedic series, The Paper. As a journalist/writer myself, I love seeing representation of my industry on screen. Plus, on its own, The Paper is simply downright fun. I’ve fallen in love with the ensemble cast, and I personally can’t wait to see what the Peacock series has in store for season 2. Who else can’t get enough of Greg Daniels’ new show?
