What is the plot of My Oxford Year?

In My Oxford Year, American student Anna (Sofia Carson) enrolls at renowned Oxford University to pursue her long-standing dream of studying overseas at the famous school. She soon meets Jamie (Corey Mylchreest), a funny and mysterious local...who also happens to be her poetry tutor. Her intention to immerse herself in academic rigor and textbooks takes a severe turn, and Anna finds herself juggling her academic goals with an unexpected and life-changing romance.
While romantic tensions build, so does the undeniable chemistry between the two leads. Will Anna give in to her feelings or hold back?
Mylchreest shared how much the film's Oxford setting meant to him. "I have a friend who studied for uni in Oxford. I was going up and getting the train to Oxford quite frequently," he told Netflix.
Carson's experience also mirrored her character in many ways. "I chose not to visit all the locations where we would be filming because I wanted to save my honest reaction to witnessing the magic of Oxford for the first time," she said. "And truly experience Oxford just as Anna would."
