Where Was 'Sirens' Filmed? Netflix's Stunning Real-Life Beaches Could Be Your Next Coastal Getaway

Sirens, Netflix's latest dark comedy, hit the streaming giant on May 22 and has fascinated audiences with its strange plotline and stunning backdrop. Starring Julianne Moore, Meghann Fahy, Milly Alcock, and Kevin Bacon, the limited series follows an assistant named Simone (played by Alcock), who works for a billionaire couple named Peter and Michaela "Kiki" Kell.
But while Simone is trying to coordinate Labor Day weekend festivities at the Kell family's mansion, her sister Devon (portrayed by Fahy) shows up and is immediately put off by Simone's creepy relationship with her boss, Michaela.
"Michaela's cultish life of luxury is like a drug to Simone, and Devon has decided it's time for an intervention, but she has no idea what a formidable opponent Michaela will be," per Netflix.
"Told over the course of one explosive weekend at the Kells' lavish beach estate, Sirens is an incisive, sexy, and darkly funny exploration of women, power, and class."
Again, though, the nuanced storyline isn't the only thing sparking conversation online. So, here's everything you need to know about the real-life locations where Sirens was filmed.

Is Port Haven a real place?
Unfortunately, no. Port Haven is a fictional island in Sirens that gives major Nantucket vibes. However, according to production designer John Paino, it wasn't possible to swing filming at such a popular New England destination.
"We were shooting in the summer, so right off the bat, we weren't going to go to Nantucket. When people buy a house out there, they want to use it," he noted to Elle Decor.
So, the team turned to New York State instead, setting their sights on a Long Island neighborhood and surrounding regions that are somewhat similar to the Hamptons.

If you couldn't have guessed, the Hamptons-akin village we're talking about is Lloyd Harbor in New York. Situated right on the Long Island Sound, it's been called home by various stars, such as Angelina Jolie and Billy Joel.

To depict the Kell estate, which sits on a cliffside, as well as the wildlife sanctuary in Sirens, the production team relied on a real-life preserve known as Caumsett State Historic Park. The property is 1,750 acres and a popular spot for Long Islanders to hike, bike ride, fish, and go birding.
Other Long Island towns used for filming included Southold and Northport. Meanwhile, indoor scenes were filmed in Brooklyn at Steiner Studios.
Is The Kell Mansion a real home?
Netflix
Despite the Kells' mansion, known as Cliff House, not being a totally real place, an actual Long Island home was used for filming. It just needed a little help to make it, well, bigger.
The production team found a private house in Northport that sat upon an "incredible cliff." John Paino told Elle Decor the home "wasn't as large" as they needed it to be, so they "built heavily," adding extensions, pergolas, and a turret.
Then, to give the residence a more creepy feel, they "brought in the most expensive kitchen appliances, curated suffocatingly organized closets, and designed overly manicured gardens to create a sense of perfectionism that bordered on overbearing."
