Show Off Your Patriotism This Labor Day With Watermelon Stars
If you’re trying to figure out where summer went, trust us, you’re not alone. As much as you would love for summer to last forever, your beach-bummin’ days are sadly coming to an end (unless, you know, you move to Florida or California ASAP). But before you get all sentimental, there’s a way to celebrate the dog days of summer before it takes its final bow. Labor Day is September 5, and it’s the last big holiday where you can enjoy and celebrate the summer season. So it’s time to grab your healthy summer cocktails and make these cute AF yogurt watermelon stars. Made with vanilla yogurt, watermelon and your favorite berries, these tart-but-sweet treats will quench your thirst while you celebrate all LDW long. Check below to see how you can make this quick and easy snack before summer leaves us for good.
Ingredients:
— half a watermelon
— 1 container berries
— 1 cup yogurt (Greek or Icelandic works)
Instructions:
1. Slice the watermelon longways in slices about 1-1 1/2 inches thick. Use a cookie cutter to create the star-shaped base for your snack. Place all of them on a separate plate.
2. With a paper towel, lightly pat one side of the watermelon stars to get rid of some of the moisture. Then lightly spread vanilla yogurt on top. After you clean off the knife, take the back end of the knife and use it to clean up the edges of the stars so you don’t cut into the watermelon.
3. Place blueberries and raspberries on top and enjoy!
