Those Instagram-Famous Dads and Their 4 Kids Get Tapped for Fashion Campaign
We’re loving that some fashion brands are stepping up to celebrate what makes people — and families — unique. One fam in particular is getting some love in the form of a campaign with Acne Studios.
Atlanta-based couple Kordale Lewis and Kaleb Anthony first became Insta-famous three years ago when the two (HOT) dads posted a picture of themselves brushing their daughters’ hair before school. “Being fathers is getting our daughters up at 5:30am making breakfast getting them dressed for school and putting them on the bus by 6:30. This is a typical day in our household. It’s not easy but we enjoy every moment and every minute of #fatherhood,” they captioned the pic. The post has 53,784 likes to date, and their IG account has accrued over 170K followers. And Swedish it-brand Acne Studios took notice.
The company signed on the extremely photogenic family — yes, including the little ones Desmiray, Maliyah, Kordale, Jr., and Kaleb, Jr. — to be the new faces of their new F/W campaign. And they’re breaking new ground as the “first Black LGBT family to represent a high fashion European clothing line,” the couple proudly declared in an Instagram post.
According to Who What Wear, the collection, which features lots of classic long-sleeved polos and stripes, was “designed around the idea and the limitless, evolving definition of family today.” And the campaign — which you should totally peep — was photographed by legends Inez and Vinoodh.
“I have been thinking of the family concept for a long time. I’m very fond of it since I feel that at Acne Studios, we began as a collective and we saw each other as family back then. A modern family,” said Jonny Johansson, creative director at Acne. “I’m obsessed with uniform clothing in families and I wanted to portray this phenomenon … It is also a way of highlighting that while every family is different, we all have the same love and want the best for our children. There is no ‘normal’ family — all families are normal.” Hear, hear!
