Fashion Bloggers That Need to Be on Your Radar in 2017

The Instababe game has never been so fierce, amirite? While we all have a few tried-and-true bloggers we like to keep tabs on (Chiara Ferragni and Blair Eadie, we’re looking at you), there’s *always* room for some new style influencers to inspire your next #OOTD. Helping us to see the light when a case of the dreaded outfit blahs hits — remember when you couldn’t figure out how to elevate an everyday hoodie or how to pull off flannel like an It-girl? — it’s all thanks to the blogging community that we’re able to put our most fashionable foot forward. Ahead, we’ve compiled a list of 16 up-and-coming style bloggers we have a hunch will be making MAJOR waves in 2017.

A post shared by Frédérique Harrel (@freddieharrel) on

1. Frédérique Harrel: Frédérique is a girl after our own heart. This street style maven and fellow It-Brit flaunts an eccentric I-woke-up-like-this aesthetic that’s the definition of fierce. (Beyoncé, watch out!) When she’s not taking it there with a rainbow faux fur topper or rocking a deep-V denim wide-leg jumpsuit, she’s channeling the mansy vibes a la a tapestry paisley suit.

2. ANNAROSLILY: The next time you *claim* to be in a style rut, take one look at Anna’s colorful blog and finely tuned Instagram feed for no shortage of visual inspiration. Expert color-blocking, strategic print-mixing and an eye for personalization that all characterize this blogger’s whimsical style. Among our favorite pieces? A pom-pom embellished skirt, a sparkly pizza bag (!) and a sushi-printed clutch.

3. Anne-Laure Mais of Adenorah: Covetable French-girl style? Right this way. Armed with an arsenal of high-waisted trousers, chunky turtleneck knits and textured toppers, Adenorah is that cool Parisian girl we all secretly aspire to be like. Don’t even get us started about her carefree lob that lends a certain je ne sais quoi quality to every look. File this blogger under “Who to Follow for Unlimited Date Night Inspiration.”

4. Elly Leavitt of WhatKumquat: When your blog is named after a small citrus fruit, you know you’re onto something. This urban sophisticate’s all-neutral-errthang palette, knack for artful layering and minimalist sensibilities will make you want to relocate to the West Village STAT. Not only does she know how to rock a camel coat and mom jeans like it’s no one’s business, but her witty Instagram captions will make you LOL.

5. Judith of Atelier Judith: At Atelier Judith, you’ll find the perfect blend of urban art, style and exploration. This full-time student (art history and classic archaeology, if you please) and blogger is someone to look to for inspiration when mainstream fashion has you running for the hills. Take for instance this Picasso bomber jacket — set against a picturesque Budapest backdrop, no less — which receives a double take in its own right.

6. Madison Williams of Minimal Major: Being an LA-style blogger and TV producer, this boss babe knows a thing or two about red carpet fashion. Madison Williams’ blog and Instagram feed reflect her mission to uncover “minimal fashion pieces that pack a major style punch” — be it a traffic-stopping cherry red coat, a risqué choker-neck jumpsuit or shimmery sequined pants. Her style calls to mind the Hollywood starlet in all of us.

7. Allie Provost of Prêt-à-Provost: You had us at Prêt-à-Provost. Casual outfits are a rarity for this trendsetting NYC blogger who practically lives in twirl-worthy Kate Spade frocks and ladylike pleated full skirts. You’ll swoon after Allie’s expansive collection of designer handbags (cough, cough, Mansur Gavriel circle bag) and almost instantly draw direct comparisons to Blair Waldorf’s impeccable style.

8. Grasie Mercedes: This Latina lifestyle blogger and actress hailing from NYC, but currently living in LA, gives off an all-around chill vibe. On duty or off, she knows how to work whatever she’s wearing, whether it’s a bright chartreuse topper or a Michael Jackson graphic tee. Less OTT, more understated confidence (maybe with a side of sass), Grasie’s style brings the wow-factor we’re so desperate to inject into our everyday wardrobe.

9. Erica Choi of Egg Canvas: Photographer, digital art director at Barneys and full-fledged NYC girl, Erica Choi’s minimalist style is straight-up #goals. Sure, she’s got that head-to-toe black thing down pat, but she’s also a whiz at mixing feminine staples (think: a DDG lace skirt) with athleisure-inspired separates — including but not limited to a throwback Adidas hoodie, a slouchy beanie and Stan Smiths. We call dibs on her faux fur backless Gucci mules.

10. Madelynn Furlong of Wide Eyed Legless: So you want to be an HBIC? Start taking notes. This art director and style blogger knows a thing or two about dialing it down. Founded upon the premise of “building a simpler, more thoughtful wardrobe, home and lifestyle,” Wide Eyed Legless is reflective of Madelynn’s minimal #girlboss style. We’re partial to her collection of vintage bombers, slouchy sweatshirts and slew of anything-but-basic basics.

11. London Scout & Sai De Silva of Scout the City: Introducing Sai De Silva and her daughter London Scout, the stylish mother and daughter duo behind Scout the City. We know what you’re thinking: How could you possibly go wrong with basically double the style inspiration at your fingertips? You can’t. Tune in to see how Sai’s currently styling her bump (she has a second one on the way!), one street-chic look at a time.

12. Brittany of BrittanyBathgate: Classic and contemporary is Brittany’s style beat. We can’t explain it, but there’s something about bloggers across the pond that can’t be rivaled. Maybe it’s their tendency to do less or perhaps it’s their ability to make even a lazy girl-approved jumper and slouchy boyfriend jeans suddenly look up-and-coming. Beyond that, you’ll seek solace in Brittany’s capsule wardrobe of It-girl essentials — namely this swishy metallic accordion pleat skirt.

13. Andrea Maria of Dear Milano: Where or where do we begin? It’s always the seasoned jet-setters that flaunt the most double-tap-worthy style. Andrea’s Mexican roots, Milano influence and undeniable New York City sartorial edge make this style influencer one to watch in the months to come. Her constantly evolving style could be a chic headscarf, a crisp button-down and mega statement earrings one day and then an easy-breezy ruffled off-the-shoulder top the next. Whatever pops up, it’s guaranteed to add some variety to your Insta feed.

A post shared by Aleali (uh•lay•lee) (@alealimay) on

14. Aleali of Aleali May: Aleali May is quite a force to be reckoned with. And that’s largely due to her tough-girl style chops, don’t-mess-around demeanor and full-on athleisure tendencies. We would go as far as to call her the next RiRi in the making. A triple threat in disguise — an image consultant, model and fashion blogger — Aleali masters off-duty dressing to a T. Not sure how to style an oversized graphic tee? Say no more.

15. Reese Blutstein of Double3xposure: When you’ve got it, you’ve got it. And make no mistake, Reese Blutstein most definitely has got the lewk. Inspired by fashion bloggers and people she encounters on the streets, Reese’s minimal style — consisting of a unique blend of designer pieces, old vintage finds and athleisure separates — with retro undertones will inspire you to maximize your wardrobe through thoughtful remixing (and re-wearing). Now, that’s a style revolution we can get behind.

16. Sophia Rosemary Barrese: If you aren’t already following this Manchester-based lifestyle blogger, then you’ve seriously been missing out. Besides the fact that Sophia Rosemary Barrese is basically Alexa Chung’s doppelgänger — and she has a freaking dino sweater — her casual-cool tomboy style with an ultra-femme twist is not to be overlooked. When she’s not wearing a sweet Peter Pan collar sweater and an A-line mini, she’s slaying in denim overalls and Chuck Taylors. She also knows how to pull off the *perfect* winged liner. We digress.

Paczki Day is coming up on Tuesday, March 1, and what better way to get in the spirit than with some Instagram inspiration. If you haven’t tried Paczki yet, you’re missing out *big time.* These Polish pastries — which are similar to donuts — are a MAJOR staple around this time of year (along with spring detox recipes and Easter dessert recipes). Traditionally, they were made in Polish households to use up all manner of dessert ingredients before the start of Lent, and even today, Paczki Day is still a pretty big deal in cities with large Polish populations, like Chicago and Detroit. Here are 11 of our favorite pics of this seasonal creation.

1. Classic Paczki

First off, let’s start with a description of what Paczki actually ARE. They’re not dissimilar to a jelly donut, but they’re made from an even richer deep-fried dough spun from eggs, sugar, fat, yeast, and milk.

www.instagram.com

2. Soft on the Outside, Sweet on the Inside

Paczki are traditionally stuffed with fruit or cream fillings, ranging from sweet to uber sugary (savory flavors need not apply). Some of the most traditional fillings include plum and rosehip jam.

3. Don’t Skip on the Filling

These Paczki are PACKED with delicious filling. The filling itself is sweet and gooey, while the dough is coated in a light, flakey, sugary glaze. Um, yes please.

4. Chocolate on Top

Perhaps less traditional than some, these tasty Paczki are drizzled with a sweet and chocolatey glaze. Conventionally, they’re glazed with a sugary, citrusy finishing.

5. NOT Sugar-Free

These bad boys are rolled in a crystal coating of white sugar. They’re decidedly NOT for dieters. Bring on the sweetness!

7. Bun Basket

Bring your neighbor a friendly basket of delicious homemade Paczki. It’ll be a total throwback to simpler times, and your neighbor will not be able to resist the pull of that super-powdery confectioners’ sugar on top.

8. Ready for Glaze

So THIS is how they do it. These pastries are piping hot and fresh from the oven, and they’re ready for a delicious vanilla glaze.

9. Real Fruit and Nutella Paczki

To mix things up, why not try incorporating fresh fruit and/or Nutella into your otherwise traditional Paczki? Case in point: These AH-mazing looking dough balls.

10. Apricot Dreams

You can barely tell from the pic, but these Paczki are actually stuffed with delicious apricot preserves. In fact, you can feel free to use jam or preserves from whatever fruit you like, from strawberries to blackberries and beyond.

11. Cousins in Sweetness

Paczki and donuts are basically cousins when it comes to the family tree of desserts. Both deep-fried, often filled, and usually glazed, they’re truly the stuff of sweet dreams.

Life is all about the little treats that keep you going. For me, it’s either a sweet dessert or a biiig cup of iced coffee – but those purchases can really rack up, especially when I’m making weekly (or TBH, twice- or thrice-weekly) Starbucks runs. I know I’m not alone in wishing there were more Starbucks deals that’d save me a buck or two each visit.

Wish no more – there are actually tons of ways to snag some Starbucks deals. I’ll even dish on how to get free Starbucks right now. Read on for the coolest coffee deals around!

Does Starbucks have discounts?

Yes, Starbucks has discounts often. They usually depend on the day and time you visit, or seasonal offerings that the chain decides to promote. You can easily find Starbucks deals in the Starbucks app, and check back here for current offers!

What is the cheapest thing to get from Starbucks?

If you still want a drink (but want to spend the least amount of money), a kids-sized steamed (or cold) apple juice is the cheapest thing to get from Starbucks at $2.25. Typically, any kids-sized drink will save you some dough!

How does Starbucks Rewards work?

You earn 1 Star per $1 spent at a Starbucks location with Starbucks Rewards after scanning the Starbucks app and paying with cash, debit card, credit card, or select mobile wallets. You can earn 2 Stars per $1 spent after making a purchase with a preloaded Starbucks Card linked to your Starbucks Rewards account as well. Once you earn enough, you can spend those Stars on freebies like a drink customization, a hot brewed coffee, or a handcrafted drink like a latte!

1. Look out for flash deals

Starbucks regularly runs deals that depend on the day and time you visit – you just have to check in the right places. More often than not, they’ll be posted on the Starbucks app.

Right now, they’re offering several deals for May 2024:

  • 50% off one handcrafted beverage on May 17, 24, and 31 only from 12-6pm local time
  • Personalized offers released in the Starbucks app on May 13, 20, and 27 only

Plus, new Starbucks Rewards members who join during the month of May will will receive 50% off any handcrafted drink during their first week as a member. All they have to do is download the app, join Starbucks Rewards, and click the ‘New Members Get 50% Off’ link!

2. Use Starbucks Rewards

Like I mentioned before, the Starbucks app is a pretty easy way to know what deals are going on when. Signing up for Starbucks Rewards will get you on track to get free Starbucks even easier. Their rewards system operates via Stars – you’ll earn 1 Star for each $1 spent when scanning the Starbucks app and paying with cash, debit card, credit card, or select mobile wallets, or 2 Stars per $1 spent when you pay with a preloaded Starbucks Card in the Starbucks app.
  • 25 Stars earns you a free drink customization
  • 100 Stars earns you a free brewed hot or iced coffee or tea, a bakery item, or a packaged snack
  • 200 Stars earns you a free handcrafted beverage or hot breakfast item
  • 300 Stars earns you a free sandwich, protein box or a bag of coffee beans
  • 400 Stars earns you free Starbucks merch (select items only)

If you’re a regular customer, signing up for Starbucks Rewards will definitely pay off! Learn more here.

3. Opt for a personal cup

When you use a personal cup at Starbucks, you receive a $0.10 discount. For regular visitors, those savings can rack up! Furthermore, if you're a Starbucks Rewards member, using a personal cup, you'll receive 25 Stars. Now, you can use a clean (this is key!) personal cup in Starbucks cafes, in the drive-thru, and even when you order ahead on the app.

4. Don't forget about birthday rewards

Starbucks deals also include birthday freebies, in which you’ll get one free handcrafted beverage, OR one free food item, OR one free ready-to-drink bottled bev.

All you have to do to take advantage of the free Starbucks is register for a Starbucks Rewards account and ensure your birthday date is associated with your account, then once the big day comes, show it to your barista. They’ll take care of you!

Summer hair is all about laid-back looks, but even our favorite easy hairstyles need a bit more structure when it's time to go back to work or school. Updos can add serious style and personality to an outfit, and are a fun way to keep your look constantly changing. From unique takes on the braid to soft curls and edgy accessories, these hairstyles will make you excited to get ready!

Milkmaid Braids

All you need to do for this easy hairstyle is braid your hair into two braids, wrap them across the top of your head, and pin behind your ear. Pull out some face-framing pieces to complete the look.

Sleek Pony

www.instagram.com

There's nothing chicer than a high pony. Add some texturizing spray to give it a messy finish or keep things sleek with some hairspray.

Sock Curls

We know that curling your hair with socks sounds crazy, but it really works! You'll get voluminous curls with a fraction of the effort.

Add A Headband

www.instagram.com

Headbands keep your hair out of your face and add serious style to your outfit. Pearls, bows, velvet — there's plenty to choose from!

Top Knot

Top knots are fun because they can be sleek, messy, curly, or straight, and they always look good.

The Starbucks summer menu just dropped, and it’s packed with some pretty divisive drinks. The menu lineup introduced a new flavor of Refreshers alongside something Starbucks has never done on a large scale before: boba. The most recent release also brought two new sweet treats to the pastry case – the Orange Cream Cake Pop and Pineapple Cloud Cake.

Given that these new sips and snacks really venture into uncharted territory, I had to give them a proper try to see if they’re worth it! If you’re on the fence about trying some items from this year’s Starbucks summer menu, scroll on for a totally honest review.

Summer-Berry Refresher

I got my hopes up for the new Refreshers with fruity boba. In hindsight, the long-awaited hype was not worth it. By itself, the Summer-Berry Refresher tastes just like blue Gatorade. Sorry not sorry.

The boba was expected to be the saving grace of this drink, but I was left wanting more after sipping down my first few pearls. The raspberry-flavored popping boba pieces supply a fun texture, but they’re not super flavorful. You also don’t get a great serving size based on the ratio of the drink.

Maybe it was just the location I went to, but though I was given the special wide boba straw, I couldn’t use it with the lid that came with my drink. My Refreshers were handed to me with the signature Starbucks sipper lid – which is too small to fit the new straws. Just a bit annoying, especially if you plan to drink this in the car or on the go!

Summer-Berry Lemonade Refresher

I sipped theSummer-Berry Lemonade Refresher sans boba first. It definitely has more flavor than the OG, but it’s overwhelmingly lemonade-y. The zesty lemonade really overpowered the berry Refresher flavor, so much so that you can’t quite taste the berry.

I might recommend ordering this bev with a light amount of lemonade, so the flavors balance out more harmoniously.

Summer Skies Drink

Okay, y'all – the Summer Skies Drink redeems the rest of the Refreshers. Essentially, it’s the Summer-Berry Refresher with a splash of coconut milk, a la the Pink Drink. I think it’s my favorite of all 3 of them!

It’s creamy and mildly sweet, which works out wonderfully. With the boba, it’s definitely giving milk tea, which I – as a boba fiend – very much appreciate. Though I like the drink itself, I still wish the boba delivered a more berry-like flavor.

White Chocolate Macadamia Cold Brew

Well, yes! The White Chocolate Macadamia Cream Cold Brew is – dare I say – the best thing on this year’s Starbucks summer menu. It’s so good. I typically associate nuttier coffee flavors with fall, but this bev has changed my mind. As much as I appreciate a sweet treat, this cold coffee was a nice reprieve from the all-new Berry Refreshers I had sipped beforehand.

This new menu item is great for those who don’t like a ton of sweetness — the bitter cold brew contrasts exceptionally well with the sweet white chocolate macadamia-flavored cold foam. It gets even better (my tasting notes read: “so very delicious”) when you stir in the cold foam with the coffee.

I also enjoy the little crunchy cookie crumble bits on top. While the popping boba (Starbucks is calling ‘em pearls) falls flat, these sprinkles actually enliven the drinking experience!

Orange Cream Cake Pop

New cake pop just dropped! And it’s everything. The hard shell that coats the tiny ball of cake in this treat is extremely satisfying. When I bit into it, it had an indescribable (in a good way) kind of crunch to it. And while the exterior is harder, the cakey inside is very moist. I wasn’t surprised at how good the texture was since most of Starbucks’ cake pops are scrumptious. That’s that for the texture…

As far as the flavor goes, I expected more of the Orange Cream Cake Pop. Sure, there’s a slight orange flavor – it’s not too overwhelming – but this skewered snack is definitely heavier on all things vanilla-y and downright sugary. It almost tastes like an orange Dreamsicle.

All that being said, I’d still order the Orange Cream Cake Pop over and over and over again if I just want a lil’ something.

Image via Starbucks

Pineapple Cloud Cake

I didn’t get to try the Pineapple Cloud Cake yet since the location I went to had sold out (a good sign, perhaps)! According to Starbucks, it’s “an airy cake filled with layers of pineapple cream, pineapple spread and whole fruit pieces with a sweet drizzle topping.”

We might have been in our Barbie era last year, but we're already looking forward to season 2 of Wednesday in all its lacy, gothic glory. The first season offered the perfect balance of spooky horror, friendships, and romance, and it looks like the next installment will give us even MORE classic Tim Burton details we love. Keep reading to see what lead actress Jenna Ortega has to say about Wednesday season 2!

Who's in the Wednesday season 2 cast?

Image via Helen Sloan/Netflix

Netflix just posted this brand new photo from set and it confirms the Wednesday season 2 cast list! We now know for sure that we'll see Georgie Farmer, Victor Dorobantu, Luyanda Unati Lewis-Nayo, Joy Sunday, Owen Painter, Emma Myers, Billie Piper, Jenna Ortega, Evie Templeton, Luis Guzmán, Isaac Ordonez, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Alfred Gough, Noah Taylor, Miles Millar, Tim Burton, Steve Buscemi, Moosa Mostafa, and Hunter Doohan in season 2 of Wednesday. Deadline confirmed that season 1 regulars Percy Hynes White, Jamie McShane and Naomi J Ogawa will not be returning.

We know that Jenna Ortega will return as Wednesday, but during her Actors on Actors chat with Elle Fanning, Fanning REALLY wants to know if Weems (the principal of Wednesday's Nevermore Academy, played by Game of Thrones' Gwendoline Christie) will return, Ortega doesn't hesitate to voice how much she loved working with the actress: "I would die to work with Gwendolyn Christie for the rest of my life."

"Wednesday's relationship with Weems is one of my favorite because they're very, very different women and they're constantly against each other but simultaneously they both want to watch each other's successes," she continues. "And Gwendolyn being as talented as she is, she's just really, really a pleasure to work with, so I'm doing everything in my power to throw out the most insane plots that would possibly bring this woman back from the dead." Never say never!

Is season 2 Wednesday going to be scary?

Wednesday. Jenna Ortega as Wednesday Addams in episode 104 of Wednesday. Image via Netflix.

"We’re definitely expanding on the supernatural world," Jenna Ortega tells Vanity Fair. "Our show had all sorts of werewolves and vampires and da-ta-da. And I think we expand on that a little bit."

"In the first season we had episodes that really stood out visually, like the dance episode was a really big one for people, and that setting was very particular and it felt like Prom Night, a little bit, or Carrie," she continues. "Every episode [of season two] that I’ve read so far is like that. It just stands out on its own as a very memorable scene or bit or setting, which I think is what I’m most excited for."

What is Wednesday season 2 about?

Wednesday. (L to R) Jenna Ortega as Wednesday Addams, Emma Myers as Enid Sinclair in episode 102 of Wednesday. Image via Netflix.

"We've had a lot of conversations and I think we've decided things that we definitely want to enhance or dive a little bit deeper in," Ortega says during her Actors on Actors interview with Elle Fanning.

In addition to leading the cast, Ortega is serving as producer this time around. She's mentioned how collaborative and welcoming series director Tim Burton has been throughout the whole process, and how excited she is to voice her own ideas. "I think we want to lean into the horror aspect of the show a little bit more because it is so lighthearted," she continues. "A show like this, you know, with vampires and werewolves and superpowers, [you don't] want to take yourself too seriously. So I think that we're ditching any romantic love interest for Wednesday which is really great, and then also we have such incredible female leads in the show."

On January 15, Jenna Ortega revealed she's got her hands on the first few scripts for Wednesday season 2. “We’re definitely leaning into a little bit more horror,” Ortega tells E! News. "There’s really, really good one-liners and I think everything’s bigger. It’s a lot more action-packed. Each episode will probably feel a little bit more like a movie, which is nice.”

When is the season 2 Wednesday release date?

Wednesday. (L to R) Naomi j Ogawa as Yoko Tanaka, Oliver Watson as Kent, Jenna Ortega as Wednesday Addams, Hunter Doohan as Tyler Galpin, Georgie Farmer as Ajax Petropolus, Joy Sunday as Bianca Barclay in episode 108 of Wednesday. Image via Vlad Cioplea/Netflix.

You'll be able to stream Wednesday season 2 on Netflix, which is where you can watch season 1 right now! We don't have an official release date but we hope to see the new season in late 2024 or early 2025!

Where is Wednesday season 2 filmed?

Wednesday. Jenna Ortega as Wednesday Addams in episode 106 of Wednesday. Image via Vlad Cioplea/Netflix.

Via Deadline, season 2 of Wednesday has moved from Romania (where they shot season 1) to Ireland. They're reportedly aiming to start filming in April. Considering last season began shooting in September 2021 and premiered in November 2022, we're expecting to see Wednesday season 2 at the end of 2024 or the beginning of 2025.

How old is Wednesday Addams?

Wednesday. Jenna Ortega as Wednesday Addams in episode 101 of Wednesday. Image via Netflix.

Wednesday Addams is 15 years old at the beginning of the Netflix series. This version of the character is older than other versions, and in the past, we've seen her at six years old and 13.

Are you excited for season 2 of Wednesday? What do you think about the series adding more horror elements? Let us know in the comments and check out the rest of the New TV Shows coming this year!
