Bobby Bones and Sharna Burgess Are ‘Shocked’ They Won ‘DWTS’ Season 27

And the Mirrorball goes to…! Dancing With the Stars crowned its season 27 winner on Monday, November 19, after the four remaining couples — Alexis Ren and Alan Bersten, Bobby Bones and Sharna Burgess, Milo Manheim and Witney Carson, and Evanna Lynch and Keo Motsepe — faced off in a tight competition that resulted in several perfect judges’ scores.

Of course, after the fan votes were tallied, there could be only one winner — and Bobby Bones and Sharna Burgess took home the hardware. “You are, in very true words, the people’s champion, my friend,” co-host Tom Bergeron told the country music radio host and his pro-dancer partner.

Bones and Burgess received the lowest scores of the night for their dances, which included their favorite dance of the season (a cha-cha to MC Hammer’s “U Can’t Touch This” and a freestyle routine to Panic! at the Disco’s “The Greatest Show”), but they came out on top with fan votes.

“We are a bit shocked. When they said our name, we had to look at each other for a second [because] we thought they were just saying everyone’s name again,” Bones told Us Weekly after being crowned the winner. “I think most people are shocked that we won. The people who voted aren’t because they are the ones who kept us in and they are the ones who made this happen for us, but [Burgess] is the one who made this happen for me.”

After the show, the newly crowned champ took to Instagram to celebrate his victory. “Grateful for many things right now,” Bones wrote. “Grateful for you that’s seeing this. Grateful for [Sharna]. Grateful for the experience. Grateful for this mirrorball. And grateful for this picture.”

Burgess is a three-time runner up on DWTS, but this is her first Mirrorball win. “Six years and 12 partners later…it’s the win I never expected but it’s everything I could’ve dreamed,” the dancer wrote on her own Instagram post. “Thank you to every single person who voted, who rallied, who supported and believed in us. We quite literally wouldn’t be here without you. @mrbobbybones once I process all these emotions there is a post coming just for you. But for now… simply thank you for everything.”
