Chrissy Metz Hates Being Asked This About Her Body
Since being thrust into the spotlight after her breakout role on This Is Us, Chrissy Metz has become a champion for body positivity and inclusivity both on TV and on the red carpet, and she’s always open with fans about her experiences with body image. But there’s one question she absolutely hates answering.
After rumors swirled that Metz would undergo weight loss surgery as part of her character Kate’s storyline on the NBC hit, it seems that’s all anyone can focus on ahead of the show’s season two premiere on September 26.
But in a new interview with TODAY, the actress has one request for fans. “The question I wish people would stop asking me is, ‘Are you having weight-loss surgery? Are you gonna be doing a gastric bypass? Are you?’ Um, what?” Metz said.
The American Horror Story actress also expresses her frustration with strangers on the internet who “play doctor” by diagnosing her online. “Some people do feel like they’re my doctors and they have tried to diagnose me on the internets,” she says. “So that’s … that’s weird. ‘Cause like, I’m good. I’m good, boo. But thanks! But I’m good.”

The actress also revealed her favorite body part, saying, “I love my calves. People are like, ‘Enough. Don’t do any calf raises.’ But I don’t! But I have come to love them and realize that, like, they carry my body around. And I could probably kick some ass.”
