Derek and Hannah Jeter Welcomed a Baby Girl and This Is Her Beautiful Name
Six months after announcing her pregnancy in February and hitting the red carpet in glam pregnancy perfection one week later (!!), Hannah Jeter (née Davis) has given baseball fans reason to cheer, as she’s just given birth to her very own little MVP with retired ballplayer Derek Jeter.
Tweets from both The Players Tribune and the New York Yankees confirmed the happy news, with the latter writing, “Congrats to Derek & Hannah Jeter on the birth of their daughter, Bella Raine Jeter. We can’t wait to meet her!”

The couple first announced they were expecting with a blog post by the model in The Player’s Tribune. In the story, she admitted that she didn’t know what position her now-husband played when they first met, but that their two years together had changed everything.
“On May 14, the Yankees will retire Derek’s number,” she wrote. “It’s a significant moment, and one that’s had me thinking a lot about the end of his playing career — those last two years for him as a player, that also happened to be the first two years for us as a couple. Big moments have a funny way of doing that, I think — of getting you to look over your shoulder and reflect.”
She went on to share their happy news. “Now, pregnant with our first child, Derek and I are looking to the future,” she casually announced, adding that while Jeter had a baby name in mind at the time, she wasn’t settled on it. “He already has a name in mind — he’s set on it. (We’ll see.) He’ll say when he calls me during the day: ‘So, how are you and so-and-so doing?’ ‘That’s not the name yet, sweetie.'”
No word yet on whether Bella was the name Jeter had in mind, but it’s pretty beautiful regardless.
Congrats to the happy couple!
