Use the Sun as Your Paintbrush With This Crazy Cool New Tool
Daylight Savings Time will be here before you know it, which means it’s time to soak up as much sunlight as possible before it starts to get dark way too early. You may be burnt out from all those BBQs and pool parties, so why not take the time to indulge in the great outdoors and get your creative juices flowing at the same time? Introducing Febo, the cool new outdoor “paintbrush” that lets you create awesome art in the comfort of your own backyard.
The folks at Febo have taken outdoor creativity to the next level by creating a rad gadget that allows you to use nature as a tool for creating art. Just grab a pencil and wooden board (or any other solid surface) and get to drawing. Then, use the Febo Lens to trace and refine the result under the sun. In just moments, you’ll have a gorgeous design similar to that of a wood-burning project.
The science behind Febo is the same as that of a magnifying lens under the hot sun. The Febo works by concentrating sunlight on a specific point, amplifying the power of the sun’s rays and allowing permanent inscriptions to be created on the material. The package includes a set of stencils, so even if your drawing skills are less than stellar, you can still personalize your favorite items easily.
The development of Febo was funded through Kickstarter and is currently available for pre-order through their website. In the meantime, we’re dreaming up all of the ways we can use Febo to add a little something to all of our favorite wooden and leather goods at home.
Would you try Febo? Let us know in the comments!
