Step Up Your Breakfast Game With a Trip to This Gourmet Cereal Cafe
Bowls are kind of the ultimate Instagram food at the moment. Between coconut bowls, the ever-popular acai bowls and Buddha bowls, it’s a wonder we’re using plates for anything anymore. But there’s one OG bowl food that you might be underestimating: cereal. It’s not quite as glamorous as all the rest, but it looks like that might not be the case for long. Major cereal brand Kellogg’s just opened up a gourmet cereal cafe in New York City.
Okay, so uh, what exactly is a gourmet cereal cafe? Kellogs has partnered with Anthony Rudolf, the General Manager of three-Michelin-star restaurant Per Se. Together they’ve created a cereal pop-up shop that will include both basic cereal and innovative cereal combos. WTF is an “innovative cereal combo?” Well, for starters you might try the pistachio lemon bowl, which includes Special K Original, Frosted Flakes, pistachios, lemon zest and thyme.

A few other notable mentions: the “You’re Cracklin’ Me Up” bowl (Cracklin’ Oat Bran, dried cranberries, white chocolate and toasted coconut) and the “Berry Me in Green Tea” bowl (Rice Krispies, sliced fresh strawberries and green tea powder), which was actually created to be eaten in the afternoon. Check out the full menu here.
The cafe will be open from July 4 to 12. The gourmet cereal bowls are priced at $7.50 for a regular and $6.50 for a small. That’s definitely steep for the basic breakfast staple but, not gonna lie, we’d buy it.
