Alert: Instagram Will Soon Offer Translations for Your Favorite Foreign ‘Grammers
The world of Instagram is full of good ideas. Scrolling through your newsfeed is like taking a trip through a global community of food, fitness, outfit, travel and beauty inspiration — and sometimes even hysterical memes! But of Instagram’s 500 million users, 80 percent are outside of the USA, and there are so many languages used for captions that we can’t always understand that inspiration. That’s why the latest news from Instagram has us rejoicing.
Instagram announced via ‘gram that translations will soon be available within the app. Which means you’ll finally understand exactly how that French beauty blogger got her effortless look or get the recipe for that German chocolate cake straight from the source. The feature, going live next month, will allow users to click on a “see translation” button for any foreign language. Then the translated text will show up below, like the translation option currently on Facebook.
There’s no word yet on how many languages will be available for translation, but we’re counting down until this launch and celebrating because the cyber world just got a little bit smaller.
Which international ‘grammers are you most excited to FINALLY understand? Let us know @BritandCo!
