Keira Knightley Proves That Red Carpet Gowns Might Be Over
As we’ve seen in the last few years, celebrities are bucking the classic red carpet gown to show off their individual style, with many of our faves rocking suits on the red carpet instead of your standard dresses. The latest fashionista to try the trend is none other than Keira Knightley, who stepped out at the 2018 Sundance Film Festival this week in the chicest velvet tux we’ve ever seen.
The Pirates of the Caribbean star has been making the press rounds in Utah with her Colette costar Dominic West to promote the film, which premiered at the festival this week. And while she usually sticks to regal, elegant gowns, we love when she mixes her red carpet d-ready style up.
The Chanel spokesperson donned a black velvet tux from the brand, according to her stylist Leith Clark, rocking a matching suit jacket and wide-legged gaucho pants with a white wing collar shirt and black bow tie. She wore no accessories, topping her look off with black Mary Jane heels. She sported her hair in a slicked-back pony with a deep side part, adding a bold red lip for a pop of color.
It’s a unique look for sure, but if anyone could pull off wide-legged gauchos and a tux jacket, it’s Keira Knightley. So chic!
