Liam Hemsworth Says His Wedding to Miley Cyrus Was ‘Spur-of-the-Moment’
Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth aren’t the kind of couple to spend years or even months meticulously planning a wedding. In fact, the Isn’t It Romantic actor told Extra at the G’Day USA Black Tie Gala in Los Angeles on Saturday, January 26, that their recent ceremony was “a spur-of-the-moment kind of thing.”
“It wasn’t hard,” Hemsworth said when asked if it was difficult to pull off a secret wedding. He added that aside from “a small group of friends,” the guests who attended were “mainly immediate family.”
As for life as a newlywed, he told Extra that things haven’t really changed all that much. “We’ve been together for the better part of 10 years, so it’s the same but different,” he explained. “It’s all wonderful and I feel very lucky to be with her.”
The feeling is obviously mutual. For the actor’s birthday on Sunday, January 13, Cyrus shared a touching message listing everything she loves about him, from the way he looks at her to the way he mumbles out loud when he’s reading a script. “I love going to a random party and remembering basically everyone is fake AF out here and how lucky I am to share a life with someone so REAL,” she wrote at the time. “I love YOU. Unconditionally.”
Hemsworth made a similarly public declaration of his love at Saturday’s gala, when he accepted the excellence in film award and mentioned the “Malibu” singer in his speech. “Thank you to my beautiful wife,” he said. “You are a sweet, sweet angel. You’re great, you’re great.”
Cyrus, who was in the audience, reportedly responded from her seat, yelling, “More about me!”
Her adoring hubby replied, “Yeah, I’ll tell you later.”
