No Brushes, No Problem! Here’s How to Do Your Makeup Without the Tools
Whether you’re a low-maintenance gal who’s always looking for minimalist makeup inspo or you find yourself in a pinch without your beloved makeup kit on hand, we can all benefit from a beauty hack that requires less. As busy girl bosses who don’t have room in our bags for a full set of beauty tools, we’re all about streamlining our routines: the more flexible, the better. These tips and tricks will help you achieve a flawless look with the greatest of ease and ZERO makeup brushes. Bonus points for the girl on the go (aka commuter makeup mavens): These four steps can be executed in a matter of five minutes!
Step 1 – Spot + Blend Foundation: Dotyour foundation on each zone of your face to disperse the product evenly, then use your fingers to make small downward strokes to blend. Tap your finger over any delicate areas, like around your eyes, to avoid stretching the skin. When working with your fingers, it does help to use a tinted moisturizer rather than a foundation because it’s usually more pliable.
Step 2 – Use Ring Finger to Conceal: Your under-eye area has the thinnest, most sensitive skin on your face, so using your ring finger to gently tap in concealer will help preserve these sensitive areas. This is where you really want to use a gentle touch.
Step 3 – Cream Contour: Blending a powder bronzer to contour can be really tricky with your fingers, so it’s best to keep a cream stick bronzer on hand for brushless application. Apply to the hollows of your cheeks, the sides of your nose, along your hairline and jawline, onto your neck and into the creases of your eyes. Lightly blend with your fingers by making small circular and tapping motions.
Step 4 – Cream Blush: Blush is a little easier to blend if you’re using a cream. Apply to the apples of your cheeks and gently tap in circular motions up and back toward your temples. Bonus: Your cream blush can double as a lip tint!
Step 5 – Liquid Highlighter: If you have a highlighter with a built-in brush for application, don’t feel like you have to use it. Apply your highlighter to your upper cheekbones, down the bridge of your nose, the center of your lower forehead and your cupid’s bow. Blend with your fingers using tapping motions.
Finishing Touches – Brow Gel + Mascara: The easiest and quickest brow enhancer will be an eyebrow gel with a wand you can just swipe through your brows. Once the gel has dried, it helps to blend them even more with a product-free mascara wand. Lastly, apply a coat or two of your favorite mascara.
Instantly stunning!
