What’s fascinating about the upcoming Vince Gilligan show Pluribus is that it’s not in the usual crime-drama format most fans might expect based on the show runner’s usual filmography. Instead, Gilligan will be exploring a “genre-bending sci-fi”, where one woman (Seehorn) is responsible for saving the entire world. Casual.
Have Rhea Seehorn and Vince Gilligan worked together before?

We already know Rhea Seehorn is a brilliant actress worthy of all the Emmy Awards that have been chucked at her from left to right. Yet what some fans don’t realize is how much of a creative force she is when it comes to fleshing out the characters she portrays. For instance, when it comes to Kim Wexler, the writers initially saw her as an extension of a Skylar White type of character; the woman with a pure moral compass who scolds her man for his criminal ways (as one probably should).
Yet instead, Seehorn portrayed her role in such a way that she’s oddly down for chaos in a way that totally flips our expectations as viewers. It's in high part because of Seehorn’s creative genius when it comes to her on-screen choices that Kim Wexler is the BCS character we all know and love. With this in mind, it will be fascinating to see what she and Gilligan come up with for her new role.
What is the meaning of Pluribus?

Pluribus means "many" in Latin. A famous phrase is "e pluribus unum" (AKA, "out of many, one"). And since the show's title is stylized to include a 1 instead of an "i," it really highlights how Carol is the one woman out of many who has to save the world.
