That's right, Practical Magic, the witchy rom-com that had us all in its thrall, is getting the sequel treatment. There are so many amazing returning faces for this second installment — we're looking at you Nicole and Sandra! — but even more new cast members to fall in love with. Who's in the 'Practical Magic 2' cast?

The squeal is really a prequel, and fans can look forward to both Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman returning. Plus, both Dianne Wiest and Stockard Channing will be transforming into Aunt Jet and Aunt Franny, the women who took in the Owens sisters after their parents passed away. Joey King is set to play Kylie Owens, Sally's daughter. You've seen Joey in many projects including A Family Affair, The Act, and The Kissing Booth trilogy.

It's unclear who Maisie Williams is set to play, but we can't wait to see her join the cast! You know her from Game of Thrones and The New Look.

Lee Pace is also set to join the cast in an unknown capacity. However, given his resume, we're sure he's gonna add a lot to this sequel! Previous credits include Foundation, Captain Marvel, and The Hobbit films.

Solly McLeod is another newcomer to the Practical Magic world. He's been in various projects from House of the Dragon to Outlander.

The rest of the stars set to grace the big screen are yet to be announced (for now). Viewers will get to delve into the lives of their ancestors, exploring how the curse that prevents the Owens women from finding true love originated. This shift opens up a whole new world of storytelling possibilities. Think less sequel, more magical origin story.
Who else is behind 'Practical Magic 2'?

The creative team behind the series boasts some impressive names. Plus, the executive producers include Sarah Jessica Parker, suggesting the series will honor the spirit of the original while bringing a fresh perspective. Susanne Bier, the mastermind behind Bird Box and The Perfect Couple, is directing the film. Meanwhile, the co-writer of the OG movie, Akiva Goldsman, is returning as a scriptwriter alongside Georgia Pritchett. But arguably the best part? Denise Di Novi is producing, as well as Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman!
What will 'Practical Magic 2' be about?

Practical Magic 2 is based on Alice Hoffman's sequel novel, The Book of Magic. The story follows the Owens family as they embark on a journey to the English countryside to save a young man's life. Meanwhile, Sally Owens' daughter Kylie starts to uncover who she truly is throughout their escapades. Oh, and Sally? She's still willing to lose everything when it comes to savoring love.
When does 'Practical Magic 2' come out?

News of Practical Magic 2 was initially announced last summer, but it’s not set to hit theaters until September 18, 2026. So, in the meantime, fans can rewatch the original and gear up to be spellbound once more.
